I was thinking the 1974 SD 455/4 speed manual combo was pretty rare so I did some checking. There were only about 200 or so built. There were actually less than a 1,000 SD 455s built (with most being automatics) so they're all kinda rare.

Yeah I was guessing it was a rare setup.

That front end is hideous and the engine bay with that color on the engine

200 cars is rare, but that is still a pretty steep price.

IMO, Barrett-Jackson has driven prices of old muscle cars up to unreasonable levels. Most of those cars just aren't worth the prices they're selling at.

I agree Mark. Barrett-Jackson has really put almost everything out of the average joe's range. Its really a shame.

I think most of people would get Mopar with Hemi for same price.

That front end...meh its alright
But that's a very rare car for any GM collector, and I like it personally. I'd take a same year Mustang over it anyday though.

I agree that Muscle Car prices are inflated. I am hoping they crash back down to earth.

As for this car, the gas tank must be filled with Gold for it to be worth that much.

You can say that again. Prices for vettes are $50-80k Boss Mustnags $80-100+K and Shelbys are even further. They are way too high. Barret-Jackson has hurt us all because of the rich farts who are crazy enough to pay those prices for cars (whcih they probably dont even drive ).

Rare or not.
I wouldn't give $80k for that car if it had $75k in the glove box.
