Plus there's questions as to the future association with Shelby as far as his cars being the "official" Mustang mods. There's questions to what Twinforce will mean for the Mustang. There's questions to which rumors/leaks pertain to the mid-life and which to the Next-Gen....

I'm not going to read the posts FOR you

And yes, there have been a lot of changes since this forum started speculating, but as we get closer, things are being finalized (or already have been for that matter)

We're in good hands...

D'oh!

So just to be clear, the 2010 year-model is the refresh and the 2012 year-model is the all-new, "next-generation" Mustang?

Hmmm, what to do? Buy a Bullitt or wait until the refresh and just hope I like it...

Probalby been scooped elsewhere but the Challenger SRT8 is coming in at 37,995 before ADMs of course, I've also seen a curb weight listed at 4150 lbs.

And a note on that nifty 3.92 final drive. The tires are supposed to be 245/45R20s (IIRC ,maybe 245/50R20s), but they spec out at nearly the same diameter as an old school 225/75R15 truck tire.

From an effciency standpoint the Mustang is way better at getting the power to the ground than the Challenger will be (its IRS, 3.92, and greater unsprung weight are the contributing factors).

There's no getting around that the Challenger will be a portly beast.

A nice portly beast, mind you, but a bit of an oinker nevertheless.

Remember, if it weren't for the S197, this Challenger wouldn't exist. That makes the pony the leader, and the Challenger a pretender to the crown.

On the unsprung weight issue, let me clarify also that I was talking about the wheel and not the total weight of the rear suspension ( the observed upsprung weight is lower with IRS fron dif to wheel, but those faux truck tires the Challenger will have aren't gonna be light and thats whats gonna effect acceleration.

Heh, if Dodge is calling the new Challenger a pony car, they are making liberal use of the term, the new challenger is more a large coupe like the 4 seat Thunderbird and monte carlo were. It should be able to seat 4 or 5 people with no problem and offer a helluva lotta trunk room as well.

Can't wait for the whiners to start crying about Mustangs lack of interior room compared to the challenger (an IRS would add a bit, but given the prefered configuration of the Mustang, it would do little to add useable interior space except on paper).

If the drive line tunnel hump is really as large and tall as I've seen in pictures the car will seat 4
