The Prius? Was it ever "in style"? Me thinks no - just a popular choice for the enviro-nerds.

More than "enviro-nerds", the car is also a lifestyle statement that says "I care" :rolls eyes: so you had plenty of non-enviro nerds getting the car because its fashionably convienient.

They are everywhere here.
I call them "speed bumps" most of the time.
Then there is the occasional driver who races my truck from a light to prove how fast they are.
I wonder what their gas mileage is doing that? Probably less than the 4cyl. truck at 70mph.
They always lose anyway, the truck weighs the same (3K lbs.). and has a bigger engine.
The real thing is that there is nothing timeless about "the potato-shaped" car.
It looks like all the other little cars on the road.

That list is funny. It's probably the only time you'll see American Icon's like the Ford Mustang Jeep Wrangler in the same category as that D-bag mover. I think in the eyes of most people that the Prius has actually surpassed the BMW for having ***** drivers.

A pair of Prius loaded with college age kids, both covered in bumper stickers. One in the fast lane, one in the middle lane, both doing about 45mph side by side on a 70 mph speed limit freeway. I assume it was an attempt to make everyone slow down and produce less earth choking carbon that they could brag to their liberal friends about later that evening over veggie burgers and tofu. I proceeded to give them the finger as I passed in my v-8 SUV while calling the State Patrol and telling the dispatcher that a group of dirty dope smoking hippies were running a rolling roadblock and were impeding the flow of traffic and creating a safety hazard. Pissed me off something fierce.

I'd always figured manufacturers loaned cars for tests till I saw that a while back...the fact the disliked the car so much as to buy one and obliterate it made for a pretty believable commentary that they didnt care much for it
