Car and Driver review of C6
From this thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=875775
Here are the movies:
High Res (21.6 MB)
http://homepage.mac.com/bramwellt/C6_CD_HIGH.mov
Low Res (6.9 MB)
http://homepage.mac.com/bramwellt/C6_CD.mov
Two errors though:
The engine is not a DOHC 24 valve.
The C6 pricing thus far is NOT cheaper than the C5.

Technically the base car is cheaper than the C6 but GM was sneaky about it. Some options were all standard in 2004 and are now part of the 1SA or 1SB package.(1SB gets you all of them) After adding 1SB the car costs about 1000 or so more than the previous car. Bose single CD stereo, power seats, special rearview mirror, side airbags, and the cargo net were standard in 04 and are now optional.
Of course, you can argue that the car is still cheaper even though they deleted those options as standard equipment because they added the new keyless entry system and push button starter instead, plus the HID headlights are there as well. The car also adds the next generation run flats which are supposed to be leagues better as well.

I think it's pretty funny that they think it's a DOHC design. Shows what can be done with some good ol' fashioned pushrods.

Still, it is a nice engine. 67 hp per liter is impressive for a 2 valve per cylinder engine, and the EPA milage of 19/28 is impressive too, although the highway figure probably has a lot to do with aerodynamics. 0-60 in 4.3 seconds isn't shabby either.
But I'm not sure where to buy 93 octane fuel. I wonder how much horsepower the engine generates on 91 octane fuel?

Good point! The 6-speed was a 950.00 option for the C5. It is now standard with the auto being the option. Both trans are a no cost option as well this time.
