They'll show a concept at SEMA, and it'll come out in 5 yrs. Then the driveshafts will break as you drive it off the lot
I'll take '11 Al S/C 5.4 GT500 please

If that is true, I wonder what Chevy will sacrifice on the Altar of Reliability this time since there's not much left from just getting the regular ones built... Never mind the 550HP, I shudder to think how much more weight a supercharger and its supporting hardware will add to the front. Even if Chevy somehow manages to substantially reduce tonnage by miraculously revising the calipers and their need for weights, it still wouldn't be enough. GM fanboys seem to forget what happened when the '05 Mustang GT went up against the '05 GTO. And with a aluminum block GT500 looming on the horizon, it'll only get tougher.

That car needs 550hp just to feel fast. I can not believe how slow this car feels stock when driving it. I have heard of more people with buyers remorse with this car than Mustang or Challenger as after a couple of wks they are not impressed.
Chevy better think twice before offering that money back guarantee.

Rumored to hit 2 tons. CTS-V is currently pigging out at around 4300lbs. They had estimates of slashing maybe 200/300lbs. And 'still hit 1320 times in the mid 12s..'
I'll wait a week before Fritz throws a hissy fit (again) at Ed and Max-Bob and cans the program entirely. "I DUN LAIK REBADGING GUISE!!!" Remember what happened with the G8/Caprice scandal..

I've seen CTS-V 1/4 mile times low to high 12s. With the same engine and being a tiny bit lighter, I'd imagine a Z28 being slightly faster than the GT500. This years GT500, anyway . And that's if the car holds together.

Needs to be more Astony
The CTS-V does a much better time then you would expect from its power to weight compared to the GT500.
It weighs a lot more and only has 10 more hp yet it runs faster in all the magazines i have seen then the GT500.

Bright side to all the headaches? At least it won't get serious RustyButt like the '10 GT-500s have been getting. Ran out of epoxy there? Christ.. embarrassing.

Z28 isn't like anything new here... it was shelved...
So its not like they are JUST starting from scratch.
