Camaro Spy Shots (No Camo shot post #23)
A few spy shots of a prototype Camaro in Australia.
With all the usual caveats about camo'ed prototypes, it does look like its hewing pretty closely to the concept car, as GM showed a capacity for with the Solstice, and certainly closer than the Mustang did to its admittedly postcedent concept Stang. Interior is the bigger mystery IMO as I think the outside would predictably closely follow the Camaro concept. The interior was a bit more stylized and "show car" and will differ more significantly I imagine.
Now if we could only get some more definitive tech specs, although the chassis will likely be essentially the G8 platform sans a few inches of wheelbase and length, and the drivetrain layout will be the usual V6 and V8 suspects.
Wonder if some subvert strategic "leaked shots" campaign will arise between Dodge and Chevrolet to keep interests piqued?

Here you go, note the last image.
Look noticably shorter height-wise than the 'Stang, makes me wonder how "intimate" the interior will be, especially in back. Is this thing going to end up a Corvette with a rear package shelf? Are those windows even smaller thant he Magnum's bunker-slits?

Catch and Copy....
Wow...The chopped roof looks disproportionate to the rest of the car.
They're gonna have to shave their mullets before getting in.
And that A-Pillar looks mighty thick. How are you supposed to see around that?
Anyway...Good Luck GM!

The styling seems a touch tighter and more compact - visually - than the Stang, at least from what you can make of these so-so spy shots. Looks slightly lower than the Stang and even shorter side windows. Don't know what it means for the back seats, but who ever uses them for much anyways, they're all pretty cramped to begin with.
Seems like it has the faux gills ahead of the rear wheels and otherwise, seems remarkably close to the concept. Do hope they clean up the front and rear ends a touch as I thought those aspects were the most awkward.
I wonder why they put on all that camo in the first place, these look so similar to the '69s that all they have to do is paint them various shades of primer gray, slap patches of Bondo randomly about, at various hints of rust, duct-tape and cheesy Cragers and people will never notice them, thinking they're just typical clapped-out old Camaro. With all the manufacturer's camo, they stand out like a circus come to town, attracting every cell phone camera in visual radius.

hmm, I wonder what's going on with the backlight/C-pillar area. on the concept they're really stretched out, but the camo ones look like they're just camo, and not a part of the car. The back glass doesn't have anywhere near the same angle. Does this mean they've switched to a notchback look, or a flying-buttress thing like the 599 GTB?

It looks like a bloated Tiburon to me. Looks they haven't got the ride height or wheel fitment figured out. The first shot, those tires are in way too far and it rides too tall.
Don't get me wrong...I want to like this car.
The thing I miss about this production Camaro mule and the production Mustang vs. their concepts, is the "razor edge" lines in the sheet metal. I guess its just too hard and too expensive to do that in mass production.
