Camaro/Firebird redux
#1
From the Autoweek's April 25 issue:
"Firebird in future?
General Motors is considering creating a rear-wheel-drive performance car in the tradition of the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird that ceased production in 2001, Automotive News reports.
GM vice chairman Bob Lutz says the company is “going to take another look at high-performance rear-wheel drive.” A Camaro-type vehicle was expected to be part of the rear-wheel-drive Zeta chassis being created by GM Aussie subsidiary Holden, but GM recently halted development of that program, saying vehicles would be too costly.
GM executives have said Zeta may be replaced by modified forms of Zeta and Sigma rear-drive setups. Sigma underpins Cadillac CTS and STS."
So, will it be back, or is this just more of Lutz's hijinks?
