California cracking down on modified vehicles

Wow, I never knew something like this existed!
"Driving while Asian"? Doesnt sound good for all the modders over here.
I wonder what things make a car "too" modified in Ca.? I understand things that would brake emission laws, but what else?

Man that stinks, I know a lot of people with modified cars. Does anyone know if they are doing everywere in CA or just in some areas. I think they are doing this in some ares only beacause they have pulled over my brother twice & never told him anything about having a modified car, and his car doesn't look anything stock.

look out for what they believe to be tell-tale signs of illegal modification such as window tinting, large spoilers, extra gauges or racing stickers.

To late, Virginia has pretty much dictated that anything other than a part with a factory stamp on it is an illegal modification. I'm sure its only a matter of seconds before the powers that be in Va read that article and catch this paragraph
<!--QuoteBegin-Newspaper.com
The concept, which originated in San Diego in 2001, has been spreading throughout the state and generated significant revenue for the California Highway Patrol and local departments. In Santa Fe Springs, for example, twelve officers on Drag-Net duty issued 300 citations and impounded 50 vehicles in just one weekend. Several cities have drag-racing ordinances that allow police to auction off seized cars and keep the profits.[/quote]

Back on topic, this law is ridiculous and it's certainly not enforced where I live. Come on, stickers? Get real.

That's why I like Florida. They don't give a **** what you do to your car as long as the head lights and tail lights work. They still crack down on street racers. They got this policy that if they catch you street racing, they give you warning, and if you do again, you lose your ride. Very simple, works and it doesn't bother the enthusiast community!
