Blue Devil Fact V. Fiction

PM's accuracy is sometimes surprisingly good, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Items of note: No stick and the price is rapidly catching up with the Ford GT.

It can be as fast as they say, but in the end, to me, its still a Vette, and I'll still take the Ford GT ANYDAY!!! No matter how cheaper the "Blue Devil" is, the Ford GT is one INSANE car!!!

WHAT?!!! What do you mean by that? I drove one twice, and I had it up to 85 in 2nd gear, and was totally blown away by the power.

Chevy should have done a lot more changes to the outside of the car, a 650hp $100k+ vette should not look like a $40k vette. The look of the car just doesn't stir my soul like the look of a high performance mustang.

You said it effortlessly got up to 100 with no problems and you said it kinda casually got up to that speed....... which was it? slow and steady or fast with no problems? Just because a car doesnt feel that fast, doesnt mean its slow.

I guarentee that you were grinning from ear to ear the whole time you were in that car.

Oh and 95-100 and it felt like 20........ good to know, that means at 180mph it'll feel like 40

I think he meant both those statements to mean the same thing...
Casually, like it wasn't even trying.
Effortlessly, like it wasn't even trying.

That's a really good point. I wonder why Chevy decided to do that.

Very true, and along those lines, I'm worried that a $100k+ Vette gonna still have an interior that belongs in a $30k car.

I just cant wait till one of the brainless rich people wreck one so I can salvage the engine out of it and put it in my 10K car. The watch the look on the face of the first Ferrari or viper who just got smoked by it . Oh wait I can do that now . But having one of those engines I can actually quieten mine up so its a sleeper or find an old 69 Nova an drop her in.

Not to try to sound like a fan boy ( actually think I sound less than alot of you here) here but you guys trip me out sometimes. All this blah blah 100k car 30k interior, looks like a 40k car etc etc. Is this a BMW/Mercedes site or a Mustang site? 90+% of the people on this site are dedicated to a car that has none of the pinache that a BMW has but thats not the point. Most people in this site have mod lists in their sigs that make their car less comfortable than my 94 Toyota tercel DD, including me. Last I checked the GT's interior was clean but not anything near the Ferrari/Porsche/Lambo quality yet you bow to it like the holy grail. The beholden GT 500 is to the mustang what the new vette is to the vette, an option on the exhisting car. Not an entirely new car. Of course it looks like a vette because it IS a vette just the baddest vette ever produced and the baddest car road Car I think GM has ever produced and until Ford counters it with something it will be the baddest US produced car hands down (the Viper has been outclassed long ago).

If the only thing you can bag on a car that will smoke anything off the showroom floor for a lot less coin, is the interior or that it looks like a Vette I'll take it. Say what you will but if ANY one offered any of you a ride or a chance to drive it you would take it and drive it like you stole it and probably get out with a tremendous stiffie and big grin on your face garunteed and the puropse of that car will have been fulfilled. Don't even try to lie and say you wouldn't. You would gladly pimp it just a much as any GM faithful would the GT.

Pony and muscle cars are not luxury cars and this site is dedicated to muscle cars and performance not luxury cars.

+1 Jeff!

Even though I wasn't as lucky as you to drive one, remember how excited I was to ride in the two they had at Sloan in 05?

God, I loved that car so much.

By the way, Jeff. Mind if I take a spin in the GT at Yocum? I promise I won't go over 100.... much
