Awesome!! Almost 700hp! Still not as cool as a Mustang though!
I know it'll sell, but I'm just a bit confused now about why we need a 700hp fiberglass vehicle capable of 210mph or so. I mean this whole my *ick is bigger than your *ick that GM and Dodge is playing to me is played out. It's a CHEVY for gosh sakes. $100,000??? 3.4 seconds to 60???
If this isn't excess, I don't know what is. This one will be STRICTLY for the very rich mid-life crisis crowd.
Just think about what's available out there for $100,000. I'm not sure about anyone else, but for that kind of money, my cars coming from Europe.

yeah teh horsepower ante is getting annoying. they used to raise hp like 10-20hp every model year now, they have to do it in 50's or 100's.
Time to build a better car, not add more hp to make it appear better.

I dont know...i think its kinda cool that rediculas cars like this actually exist....but I do agree about building a better all around car instead of just adding more power....
I'm all about smaller and more capable....

Judgingby the Z06, the rest of the car is capable anyway but I'm sure the good ol' BowTie boys have more planned for the chassis, drivetrain, etc.
Who'd like to see 15" drilled/slotted/vented/zinc-plated rotors with 6-piston alloy calipers, stainless pistons, street/race pads, and a triple master cylinder with vacuum boost and 4-channel ABS and everything you could ever (and can't) imagine they could do?

However, I'll also add that the HP wars are getting stupid. Whats next from Viper, 800 or 900hp in a sub 3,000 lbs car only to be countered by GM with a 1000hp vette in a 2000 lbs chassis for 150,000 dollars?
Granted, most of these things will just end up like some prized show dog, but we are gonna see a few in the paper (look at the Enzo deathwatch) as the cars rapidly exceed the performance level of the drivers.
the hp war is prob going to stop when cars keep getting too fast for the general public to handle. and the governement will step in and put a cap on hp or somthing. Thats prob one thing that helped the japanese performance cars in the 80's is the gentlemans agreemnet of 276hp(even though some cars exceed it). once everycar hit that limit they just tuned the crap outta everything else.
yep...just like golf....Drivers a limited to 460cc.
The existing Corvette lineup offers world class performance for the dollar, but fails to be a true threat to the reign of Porsche's 911 because GM never develops the dynamics beyond 8/10, still hasn't seen fit to give them an interior kit on par with the materials and construction found in a well equipped Honda Accord, and has yet to figure out that not everybody with a desire for more than 400hp wants a car best suited as a weekend toy.
Now they have decided yet again that the fix isn't to push through a better interior and address the remaining dynamic issues that cause a 911 to feel so polished while the Vette still feels a bit like a skunkworks hot rod, but instead give it even more hp. For all those who argue that GM is on a better path than Ford....if this doesn't convince you that they still don't get it nothing will.

wierd.
I don't see how anyone can complain about cars like this being in existence. Right now, we are in a new era of horsepower wars, and that is a great thing! I DO think that eventually these cars are going to kill themselves off though, as someone above stated. The manufacturers will reach a level that the general public won't be able to handle, and they will either impose some sort of restriction on themselves, or the government will do it for them. I just hope it lasts a few more years and we get some more ridiculously overpowered vehicles before that.
