Biofuels?

does anyone know about the pros and cons to using biofuels :scratch: a friend of mine is writting an essay and needs some opinions on how these work so if you know the pros and cons post away

so its actually in use? i thought it was still in the concept stages

no, i think use of biodiesel is actually pretty widespread. Less so up here cause of the cold though. One of the universities in montreal fuels all its shuttle buses that go between the two campuses with biodiesel, but like i said, its only about 5% bio, the rest just regular stuff. And the city's transit company ran a pilot project where they started using it in a bunch of the buses, biobus they called it.
I think its a relatively straightforward conversion, if there is one required at all. It could be that you can just start using it in a regular diesel engine without any modifications, i think i might have heard that.
