I don't know if this is a glitch in the game or what.
But as you race you build relationship with the manufacture of the car you are racing, so I only used Fords and didn't do that many races, but I was getting parts discounts. First it was 25% off Ford parts then 50% then 75%, and then 100% off...seriously 100% off. So I took all the Fords I had and bought every single upgrade on each of them for free.
seems really weird as I only played the game for an hour or two and got Free parts for any Ford. I guess next I will just use another make until I earn 100% discounts on those.
In Forza 3 I blew thru so much money modifying all my cars, seems odd that now you can do all the upgrades for free after not to much playing.
Hopefully they don't patch the game and ruin it for me though.

Yeah I saw that. They updated the interface a bit, added silhouette interior views for alot of standard cars, plus a good interior for the regular F1 car. The DLC pack looks halfway decent, I just wish 4/12 or so cars weren't GT-Rs. And I'm a bit baffled by the prius touring car 
But the tracks look cool and I must have all the paints
Not as good as it could've been, and severly lacking in the II department, but I still can't put this game down. Black Ops hasn't been in my Ps3 in weeks

What parts do you think they failed on? I've played forza 3 before and I didn't enjoy it nearly as mjuch as GT5. Yeah it doesn't have all the cars I want but other than that it's the best racing game I've played

Plus the damage in GT5 was pretty badly done.

^same. didnt like the driving of the cars in GT5.
to be honest, i wish both of them would stop putting 1000 cars in the games, and get us some more tracks. There's loads missing from both. For instance, mt panorama (home of the bathurst 1000) would be a nice one to have.

I think the sound is the biggest issue with the GT series. None of the cars sound realistic.
It may not sound like a big issue, but that goes into the character of a car and actually has a lot to do with how we perceive the driving in the game.
For example I've played games like GRID where the driving is pretty arcadish, but the sound is so intoxicating it feels more rewarding

I don't have issue with the sound, but the game as a whole. Lets just compare intro sequences:
GT4 - 360 Beauty shots of a GT40 with artsy choir music followed by Van Hallen and a murial of killer (virtual) racing and scenery.
GT5 - Raw materials being turned into a car (looks like a Caravan) over the course of several minutes and unintelligable 20th century 'classical' music, then looks and sounds like the digital intro of an 80's Anime toon, not like they're anything wrong with 80's Anime, it just doesn't belong in this game.
'Nuff said, IMO...

So far, FM4 is fantastic. The Autovista review of the DeLorean is hilarious I might add.
If you're on the fence, get this game. You won't be disappointed. It's the reason I'm a zombie at work today. Lvl. 23 and a nice assortment of cars already.
They need to get the Boss 302/Coyote GT in there. I can't believe they didn't do that yet.
