Hey, just curious if anyone owns a Lincoln LS and how they like it, reliability, fun to drive, gas mileage... etc.. i'm lookin at both the v8 and v6 models.. i think i might have found a stick shift v6 actually.. but anyway if you own either lemme know what you think! i appreciate it! - Jim

 

We have a '00 Lincoln LS V8 Sport. It's been a great car. It has 102,000 miles on it now and still rides like a dream. We had to have the valve cover gaskets replaced about 10,000 miles ago. The back window motor gears are plastic and break easily in very cold weather. Had to have 3 of those gears replaced. Other than that, it's been virtually maintenance free since we bought it 3 years and 70,000 miles ago.

The gas mileage stays around 20mpg with mostly highway miles, but it also runs on premium. My wife drives it about 65 miles a day and loves everything about it. I've never driven the V6 version so I wouldn't know how to compare them, but I would highly recommend the V8. It's very quick and smooth for a car it's size.

 

i appreciate the feedback.. i called the dealer where i saw the car and it turns out the v6/stick shift i was interested in is sold anyway, so i'm still considering both of them.

We have an '02 LS V8 and it's been a great car so far. We bought it used with around 50K on it and it still feels very solid. The V8 is very smooth and powerful. So far we're averaging around 20 MPG with a mix of city and highway. On the one road trip we went on, it got around 25. It's my wife's car but I drive it whenever I get the chance.
