AMC Javelin and AMX

Dose anyone know how much would be a good asking price for an AMC Javelin or AMX? The car I'm looking at is a project car, it is not restored.

I have no idea what a good price would be... but I LOVE those AMX's!!!

Good luck on finding a great project car!
What are you plans? Restomod or straight restoration?

Options, people! Rust? Frame damage? How's the interior? What about the paint? Does it run? What motor/tranny does it have?

it will be hard to find a good one adn it wont be cheap. But if you got the drive and the cash then do it because they were awesome cars. Our very own Chuck (blip) had an AMX. In my opinion got for a 390 with a 4 peed and go pack

Make sure it is complete!

Finding the little stuff for trim and interior can be a nightmare and expect to pay a lot for something that if it were for a Mustang, would just cost a few dollars.

The price guide is a little low now, as the AMX (68-70, the true 2 sitter)market got discovered this winter. Restored #1 & 2 now can go for the high 20's to low 30's.
"Big Bad" Javelins and Mark Donohue editions are also climbing in price.

Real rough project cars can still be found in the 3-5k range, but you'll probably
spend a lot of time and money trying to find the missing parts.

Buy a complete/running one that needs "refinishing" not a "project" car that needs restoring. You want the go-pack option and any other Group 19 options too.

If you can find one of these, it would be a big help.
(I won't sell mine, but will gladly share/copy info.)

All this talk has me thinking that I shoudn't have sold my '68 SST.
Even with the 169k on the odometer. I gave it to a friend for $300 and he drove it for at least 3 years after that.

Thanks Doug, glad to help out.

Mark, the SSTs really haven't started jumping up yet, but I bet they do soon.

Now a 69 SST in a Big Bad color is gonna cost some coin.
