Am I cheating on my baby?
I was out driving the Mustang the other night and as I drove by the Chevy dealer I noticed a very beautiful Vette Z06 sitting in the showroom. They weren't open, but I did stand there and eye **** the car for quite a while. She was a 2LZ with competition grey wheels in black! I am a sucker for a black car. I know its a ridiculous $75k, not that its not worth that much, just that its ridiculous compared to what I can seriously afford. I've spent the past several days trying to figure out how to get it and keep my car and as of late how to get it even if I have to get rid of my car. I would like a 2011 GT or even a 2008 GT500, but not instead of my current '07. However I don't know how much longer I can go without at least a very nice C5 Z06 or in my greatest dreams a new C6 Z06. Its like its sitting there begging me to get it. I know I won't unless they strike oil in my backyard, I am in Texas you know, but till that day am I cheating on my Stang by being lured by the "dark side" of the Chevy Vette! I know its a Chevy, but it is an awesome American sports car.

I've decided its not cheating as long as I don't test drive. And I don't think they'll even let me. I was not kind to the Chevy dealership about my '02 Suburban that I bought from them. Their service is less than ideal. Oh well, I know I won't do anything, but I got to tell you that Z06 in black is one nice looking car. I'm already afraid to park my Mustang out of my sight and I paid like $28k for it plus a few mods. I can't imagine how I would feel just driving a $75k car. I would probably freak out over every little thing.
On another note, a good friend of mines neighbor is getting a GT500KR sometime soon. Its supposedly on order. I think he's going to garage it while he drives his Black with alloy stripe GT500. I will get pictures when I can. This guy is on his 2nd Shelby already. He has no wife, no kids, no house payment, and a job that pays like $300k a year. I'm told he's paying more than $100k but less than $120k for the car from a dealer he is very close to in Houston. He made $5k selling his first GT500 after driving it 6 months.

There is a used Silver C6 Z06 at the local Ford dealership that I have stopped and looked at 3 times now. It is sharp. I would like to race a Z06 once I get my new shoes on just to see where the Stang stands.

Its just one of those things that feels so wrong and so right at the same time. lol
I know exactly what you are going through. The Z06 is a beast, but from the way you are talking, it sounds like it may be a stretch financially. Have you ever thought about buying a normal C6? It has plenty of power, and has the potential become a monster with a few mods. The base price on an 09 starts at 47,xxx and is much more reasonable than the Z06.
I did want a Z, but I had to have the targa top, so I bought the C6 and in the next year or so, I am going to put the Z06 body kit on my car.
If you want the names of a few dealers that offer AMAZING prices on C6s, shoot me a PM. I didn't buy my car from one of them, but I will on my next.
