Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
If this isn't THE sexiest car today, then it's easily in the top five list. Check out Motor Trends "First Drive" and the accompnaying pictures.
Anyhow, this car takes a top spot in my first post-big-time-Lotto-winning purchases

I am eagerly awaiting the car to arrive to my local Alfa Romeo store in Villanova PA (Algar Ferrari is one of the country's oldest Alfa/Maserati/Ferrari store) and I'm pretty sure they will get one of the 99 cars coming to America!! Going to be pricey with only 99 out there. For me, the closest I'll have to owning one, is the diecast that is coming out by the end of the year.
The Alpha's certainly sexy, But I have to still give an edge to the Vantage. The 8C's like a busty Orange County plaything: hot but a bit much. The Aston's the sort of sexy you just can't keep your hands off of.
But yeah, I could give myself a headache trying to decide whether the Alfa or AM V8 is the better looking car. Woe were it that I had such consumer quandries in my life!
Love the Alpha . . . . and love the AM. I'd take an 8C over a Vantage, but I'd take a DBS over an 8C.
Dream vaction would include . . .
Driving an AM DBS from England (Ferry) to Sarthe, France for the 24 Heures du Mans. Dropping off the DBS after the race and picking up an Alpha 8C. Then head to Monte Carlo in the 8C for the Grand Prix de Monaco!

I would think the Alfa is more Monica Bellucci than an Orange County Silicon Sally -- sensuous but in a very classy, Continental way. The Aston V8 might then be perhaps Elizabeth Hurley.

!!!!!!!
I'd say more Keira Knightley than Hurley. All respects to Liz, but Keira's got that "sexy and senuous but able to kick major A$$" quality that AM's got down.
Hmmm, maybe. The Alfa is definately better than the standard DB9 IMHO but the AMV8 is close and the DBS maybe even a bit closer. And for that matter, so long as were on the subject of potential winners of the best looking car award....I think the GT500KR puts up a good fight with the lowered stance and retro hood fixing my two biggest gripes with the standard GT500.
I'll review my findings and get back to you.

I think the GT500KR takes too much grief because it isn't as expensive or exclusive. Of course, nobody ever says that is why they don't like it as much, but without question it has an influence. Some of the details of the KR's design aren't as clean...more expensive cars tend to do better here...but the KR easily competes as an overall package despite a few rough areas.
Then again even expensive cars have their flaws. The DBS's lower front fascia and side skirts are needlessly busy to say the least while the AMV8's cowl is a bit too low and the nose just a bit to rounded. I'll rate this like the Alfa...the DBS is absolutely not as good looking with the AMV8 being close and the DBS likely holding an edge...if a small one.
