Akerson Wants Opel Adam, Cascada for Buick

With more and more of Buick’s lineup coming courtesy of Opel in Europe, two models conspicuously absent from Buick showrooms are the Opel Adam compact and Opel Cascada convertible. According to a recent Automotive News report, GM’s chief Dan Akerson thinks both of those vehicles would fit perfectly into the Buick lineup.

This is a more realistic goal ... since half of Buick's lineup is Opel related anyway.
I would love to see Adam in the USA, as long as they don't overprice it. It shouldn't be more expensive than Fiat 500.

Yeah, I could see this, nothing says luxury/premium cars have to be large land yachts, ala, the good 'ol days in Detroit where tonnage and chrome ruled the day. Yeah, Buick would have to be fairly aggessive with pricing as there still are many who reflexive measure value by the pound.
However, as various European brands (Volvo, Audi, Mini) have well shown, Americans are fully capable of understanding the difference between quality and quantity when it comes to value and are willing to pony up for a well executed smaller car. This is especially true for more urban areas where the very compactness of a smaller car can be a distinct asset when winnowing through traffic and back streets.
