Airless, See-through Tires. (56k killer)
Hey guys I do not know if this has been seen before or not but I got this in an email from my uncle.
I guess it is about airless see through tires made by Michelin here is the Email I got with pictures.
NEW "SEE THRU" TIRES
Radical new tire design by Michelin. The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.
These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires.
This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:
a. no more air valves
b. no more air compressors at gas stations
c. no more repair kits
SCAN DOWN & SEE.
These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin. It will be awhile before they are available to the automotive industry.
Honestly it is a really neat design about how it works, but I do not like the look of it.
Still pretty cool.

those are nasty looking, but a good idea....
what about when they get packed with snow, ide or mud? how would that affect the ride quality?
it looks like they would be easy to re-tread, good for the economy?
no more flats cause of nails or screws!

Anything new is not going to be cheap... I'd really hope they look like conventional tires in normal production.

I don't think the sidewallys are going to be a pop-on pop-off sort of deal. They will probably be molded in such a way that something like that wouldnt happen. 'sides, that would take alot of flexing, and i would hope that the tire ont be flexing that much anyway lol
