All but the Fisker Karma. But I have noticed a big trend in cars I feel will be future classics. Still on the down low but holding value is the G8 GXP. The C6 Z06. Raptor.

I don't believe any of these will be desired 30 years from now...

I agree with you, the only one on the list I don't think would make the cut would be the Fisker, it'll probably be the DeLorean of this generation.

Quirky and with its fans but the broader appeal just won't be there. The LFA will get it for just being a supercar.

I think more along the lines of:
1: Lexus LFA
2: Boss 302
3: C7 Corvette Stingray
4: BMW M3 coupe
5: The toyabaru triplets
6: ʻ13 Shelby GT500

I know some would disagree with me but yes, the Boss and e90 M3 are easily future classics.

This is a great list but something tells me that the LFA will just be another unicorn. When I think future classics I think maybe the Gallardo since the baby Lambo has quite the stir in the car pot. Not sure why I think it.

The GT500 is the ultimate milestone in the history of the car. Pure hot rod. Cylinder wall splay, all aluminum 5.8L, better super charger, solid looks, tons of performance, adjustable Bilstein suspension. I think people still under appreciate that car.

You guys see that video of a 2014 GT500 on the ring? It was on a Jalopnik. A lot of the commenters talked crap about how rough the run was. My answer is, isn't the ring about time and speed? And time is time. So if it ran a great time it accomplished the mission. It's kind of like, and I can't believe I'm quoting F and F, winnings winning, if it's by an inch or a mile. No one cares how you arrive. Just that you do. The video looked like the driver was taming a beast but that's what these are all about right?

The problem with any of this is people will buy them, keep them in climate controlled storage, then break them out in 20 years along with everyone else that stored them so it will be a buyer's market more than anyone could have imagined. The Prius will be the rare car, those things get bought to serve and they will be gone in 20 years making way for the next hybrid. I don't however think the Prius will be worth much in the long term though.

+1, I think the 2007-up GT500 is a perfect example I'm amazed by how many super low mile 2007 GT500s exist. Perhaps i'm bias but I think the 2003-04 SVT Cobra will be one of these future collectibles because many people did modify and so on. I'm tempted to sell my Cobra because I don't think it's worth what people are willing to pay for one.

Yep, perhaps if Ford would have made an absurdly low number of GT500s (like say 500) in 2007 and called it quits the people hoarding them might have had an investment as it stands I suspect the 07-09 cars will be about as collectible as a 96-01 Cobra.

Not that its bad mind you as the car is great hot rodding material and tasteful modifications wont hurt the value of the car.

The main forces behind collectibility is rarity and desirability.

The Shelby's will have the latter and not the former. The problem is with all these cable show auctions and barn find series and stuff is that it's given people the idea that you can buy a muscle car or sports car and sit on it and have it be worth $200,000 in today's money 30 years or more from now.

The cars are produced in too many numbers for this and the amount of survivors that will be around will be many times greater than the classic cars people are finding now.

More cars to begin with and even more people locking them away for the future.

It's kind of silly really

+1

Ford has made so many 2007-14 Shelbys trying to compare the value of it to a classic Shelby is silly. I love the fact that there are so many low mile GT500s to choose from. I'm personally trying to get the funds together to by an 09 GT500 with only 6k on it!
