^ I see what you mean. Although im pretty sure theyre willing to look over the little things in favor of the minster performance and the numbers it puts up.
Im thinkin over 1.1 or even 1.2G's on the skidpad. Around 3.3-3.5 for the 0-60 depending how well it launches. Top speed above 200 (165 limiter).

i read somewhere that GM confirmed that there will be a zr1 model. the old zr1 had 18hp more than this one although it had 45ft/lbs of torque less.

Maybe as a 2016-2017 model. Could have the same powerplant but maybe a touch bigger supercharger and more daily drivability and creature comforts compared to the track-bred Z06. Fingers Crossed

Either way the new vette is out and taking the world by storm. The Viper is still a strong player in left field. We just need Ford to roll out a new GT to get back into the (near) supercar game.

it appears that the c7 z06 has all the features. touch screen, bose, leather, heated seats and hud. what else do you need? lol

Ejector seat, airbag suspension, hydraulic rear wing, doors that slide under the car for easy entry/exit, reverse opening hatch, laser headlights (to vaporize deer and hybrids) and an optional removable rear floor panel to really feel and hear the exhaust!

true but critics like top gear that just hate american vehicles will find every little thing that they can to down it. the c6 z06 had a reported top speed of 198. but they really dont have a speed limiter, well they do but its at like 205 for the z06 and 210 for the zr1 although i believe its the rev limiter it hits instead of speed limiter since going 210 in the zr1 will be close to 7k rpm and 205 in the z06 would be over 7k rpm.

I wonder whose supercharger Chevy is using? From what I remember, Eaton doesn't have one of that displacement (they have a 1.9L TVS).

Clarkson kept tapping the bumpers when they did their take on the last gen Z06 but the video they put out was remarkable. They loved the performance for the price, just didnt really like the quality. In fact im gonna go watch it now lol

although i doubt it they could be building their own. kenne bell is the only one that i know that makes that displacement. heres a leaked engine pic. not sure if its for the z06 but its a 6.2L supercharged engine thats for a corvette.

Yea in the Great American Challenge and in the review against the R8 he loved the power and even raved about how its comfy, quiet, spacious, until you mash the pedal and its just "absolute lunacy"

CCTking Jan 12, 2014 06:48 PM

SouthCarolina im hoping maybe they do a two part with both the cars at once really comparing the differences. I TEALLY want them to do one for the Shelby gt500 (newer one) and the new Z28 Camaro

i believe the bumper is made of really thin plastic. i couldnt imagine them using fiberglass in 2009.

are you talking about the one with the zr1 and the r8 with the v10? the r8 is higher quality car but it cost almost twice as much as the zr1 to get the v10 one and the zr1 will out run the r8 on the strip or road course if he wouldnt have floored it all the way threw the corners. the r8 has can only pull .98 g's compared to the 1.12 in the zr1. either way they are both amazing cars.

CCTking Jan 12, 2014 07:04 PM

Yea its thin plastic. Thats why its called the plastic fantastic lol

But yea if he handed it to the stig the zr1 wouldve put a real hurt the the v10 R8.

I have netflix now and cant stop watching top gear uk lol
My favorite episode still though is when they tried to destroy the toyota hilux. NOPE!

If southcarolina12 is really showing us the new Corvette engine, that is a gwad awful looking engine. An engine that looks like that should only be in a semi .

wide-open-throttle upshifts executed up to eight-hundredths of a second quicker than the dual-clutch in the Porsche 911.
that is amazing. this 8 speed auto transmission going in it is also lighter than the previous 6 speed auto. the frame is 60% stiffer than the previous zr1 and it will put down a faster lap time than the zr1. it also says it will have more than 625 and it does have a eaton 1.7L supercharger.
this is the actual engine going into it. not the best looking over 625 from a push rod engine is really good.

holey moley that thing looks nuts. I guess for what it costs it should look pretty crazy as well :)

Wish Ford had some sort of retort to the C7 Z06.

It's not necessary at this time I'm thinking. Ford had a short run with the GT. We will probably see another of that type one day. The corvette is just about reaching the exclusive category like the viper and the exotics. Don't think Ford could sustain that type of vehicle for a long run and make a profit from it. Really don't know how Chrysler and GM can do it.
