2015 Corvette Z06
Should be pretty fast, the styling looks a little overdone but still looks nice.

Interesting, it has running boards and a recessed center in the roof like the 2015 Mustang.

Looks beautiful. I love it. Those splitters and spoiler in CF look killer.
|
Dig it!

It's strange that I love this car but don't care for the base model car
Looks like it came straight off the track at LeMans  |

im ready to see the c7 zr1 hp and torque numbers if the z06 is doing 620/650 im thinking 700-725hp for the zr1. |
1. They released interior pics showing an auto.
2. It's supercharged. The Z06 has always been the driver's track car, manual only and high revving N/A big block. I don't like the departure from this formula. This, to me, should be the new ZR-1. I understand that Porsche has left their enthusiasts in the dark with the PDK only GT3 and Turbo models, as well as Lamborghini and every other higher end supercar manufacturer, but I'm surprised Chevy will offer an auto on this car. It looks completely bad@ss but still. Not that I'd ever buy one new, I still feel let down. I hope Ford doesn't follow suit on the GT350 or other future Mustang SEs. |
Looks mean, and has the specs to back it up.
Some other Info: 8L90E 8-Speed Automatic available! Only 600+ hp supercar available with either a fully Automatic or fully Manual Transmission - Steel torque tube replaced with woven c/f - 60% more rigid chassis, with roof on, than C6 Z06 - 2.2" wider front track - 3" wider rear track - Wheel and tire sizes from C6 ZR1 - 3 levels, with varying degrees of aero downforce, with the Z07 version having more d/f than any production car GM's tested in their wind tunnel - Compact 1.7L supercharger capable of 20,000 rpm and 9.5 psi of boost - Pre-production versions set lap records @ Milford, beating ZR1 lap times |

The Z06 looks bad! (Bad as AWESOME!) And, it bet it stomps a lot of butt out on the roads/track. |
So, the new Mustang has some design cues from the Corvette then. Cool.

Looks amazing. Way overdone but not really tacky. The automatic option makes sense because most people that can afford this car are old rich farts that won't be able to clutch this monster. Would really prefer to see a dual clutch gearbox instead of an auto trans but it should be a fantastic performer either way.

If they put a solid DCT in there itd make much more sense. Even more capability everyday and on the track. While i really like (almost love it lol) i wish theyd have done something with a more functional rear diffuser. Corvette Racing team inspired and it TRULY would have been a monster.

Don't knock what you can see from two pics. I can promise you that this car IS a monster and a handler also. This is GM's top dog. Not much under $250k will ever touch it.
I can only imagine and shudder when i think about the next ZR1 model |
I wonder if they'll even have a ZR1 model now.
|
Maybe as a 2016-2017 model. Could have the same powerplant but maybe a touch bigger supercharger and more daily drivability and creature comforts compared to the track-bred Z06. Fingers Crossed
Either way the new vette is out and taking the world by storm. The Viper is still a strong player in left field. We just need Ford to roll out a new GT to get back into the (near) supercar game. |
