O face. This is kind of a big deal for M3 counter attack. Finally the right horsepower! Good looks. This is a winning package!

Yeah that's what kills it for me. I'd still rather pay 50k for a Boss LS. But I'm sure this car has great creature features much like AMG's cars do. So it's all about the sophistication with these cars. Not nearly as much the visceral experience. But I still love them. I can't deny that I don't love the crazy niceties but it's not really what I want to own. The MSRP is only half the story of ownership.

I think it's probably the adaptive cruise control which is featured in the Bentley lineup in almost the identical left of center spot.

But yes I too need symmetry...

This bugged me about my SHO. It was the radar for the cruise control as said above. On the driver side in the lower grill it was solid. On the passenger side it was vented. Always bothered me.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. Don't me wrong, besides that this car is gorgeous. But that would bug me to no end.

I think the scion xB has only 1 reverse light and it pisses me off each time I see one lol

Wow, 450hp out of 4.2L with no forced induction is a pretty amazing accomplishment. I'm sure owning this car will tilt your debt in a northerly direction pronto.

450 hp and 317 ft lbs? that's quite a large hp/tq difference.

Its main competitor (the M3) is pretty light on the torque side as well as I recall. Don't know the exact spec off hand though.

Torque doesn't necessarily have to be high but it has to be consistent. Blab all you want (not pointing any fingers) but the numbers don't lie and the M3 is one quick booger. I assume this will be no different. Besides with a trick differential the AWD should do some *** planting. Like a Ferrari, it's a car that would be great for a weekend and horrendous for the life of the car.

Reminds me of a time I was at our BMW dealer and I overheard a guy complaining about having to take his car in for repairs to his friend on the phone. He said he loved it but was tired of paying for repairs. So I went to the bay and saw that his was an M Roadster. It was clear they didn't tell him what ///M stood for. MMMoney is what it takes.

Oh so true, when I had mine I remember a stop in for oil service and the advisor "advised" me to take on the extra service agreement for $500 because I had so much mileage already on the car. I said "well why??" He said "Well, you'll need brakes soon" to which I responded "yea, soo??". He then told me that a brake job on the car would run about $800. I said "Where do I sign??". Shortly after that I sold the car. If it has 4 wheels and comes from Germany, its a money pit, plain and simple.

Well your only talking 4 liters. Comparatively speaking BMW only traded a few foot-pounds to get over 100 hp/L I imagine if the 5.0 was tuned for over 500hp it would be about the same.

Bet it's more like $80k

IIRC the RS4 from a few years ago was around $65-70k
You are gonna pay more for the 30 more hp they've gotten out of that engine, plus you almost always pay more for a coupe version of any car, and inflation is a b1tch too.

Audi's bigger problem is going to be the 2014 M3 with it's turbocharged 6 which will probably be in the 440-450 hp range too, but have probably 100-120 lbs-ft of torque more than the Audi RS5, will be lighter since there is no AWD, and probably therefore cost $5k less. It will also get better gas mileage since that 4.2 liter engine from Audi is well known to be a gas hog, like the 4.0 liter in the current M3. Lastly the new M3 will be a simple reflash or tune away from even more power.

I don't think it really matters how many RS5s Audi sells since they will most likely lose money on each one, they keep building them simply for publicity.

On German premium cars, I think they're just too **** expensive.

Can't wait to read the EVO review on this one.

EVO magazine - RS5 tested against M3 on a mountain in driving sleet - M3 still the right hand of god, RS5 loses handilly due to AWD leveraging to much understeer.

Audi's biggest foe, the understeer. It's why I like RWD cars more.

Another thing i cant get over in the Audi's is that disconnected feeling. Too many machines and gizmos seperating me the road. I like that pure visceral driving experience, like driving a lotus. I live the way my 12 sixxer has steering settings, always have it set to sport. But yea Audi puts too much tech into driving, itll make you think youre becoming a better driver without you actually getting better.

Pretty sick.

Though IIRC the next gen M3 is going back to it's 6 cylinder roots.

The Audi I really want is a TT-RS. GF is shopping for one at the moment but they are pretty hard to find.
