If this car is anything like European Hyundai i30 (which is pretty much the same car), its gonna be one great hatch.

 

Pretty nifty hatch. Nice how so many manufacturers are developing their econoboxes well beyond being penitential penalty boxes. Now, if they add a suitably perky (180hp+) motor and taut underpinnings, they'll have a real winner on their hands.

 

The most powerfull compact, Focus, (not counting performance compacts) has 160 hp so its kinda hard to expect for this car to have 180 hp.

 

Base? Perhaps not, but I'll hold out hope for some GT version to have s bit more fire in the engine room and its shoes laced a bit tighter.

 

One of my sons recently got a 6-speed Veloster. The color is similar to Yellow Blaze as the one on the pics. It's tons of fun.

Base is about $17K.

 

I was under the impression the US market would get a 2-door coupe version of the Elantra sedan. Unless this is meant to replace the Touring model.

 

Yeah, we'll get both Elantra GT and Elantra Coupe.
