Don't worry Adam, if GM learned anything from the sales of the last GTO (and for that matter, the new G8, as it isn't selling well either), there won't be any more GTOs.

 

god that car used to be bad as in the good bad but they turned it into a famly sadan

That Holden concept was based on old GTO's drawings.

 

The GTO never became a sedan. The new GTO was built in the same spirit as the first one. "lets take an average car, stuff a monster V8 in it and call it the GTO!"

The first GTOs werent flashy either, they were a trim level on the Le Mans. Thats almost exactly what happened to the Monaro to make the new GTO, but I digress.

It was overpriced a bit, but still a solid car. I guess people are too infatuated by The Judge

IF the Monaro (GTO) DOES come back in 2010. It is GM's signature death of a Firebird evolving. Guess that will be (MAYBE) Pontiac's entry into the "New" Pony War's.

 

Yeah. It is the Monaro Coupe 60 concept. They also have a pontiac version, but it isn't as good looking as the 60.

 

I thought the GTO was killed...

 

Pontiac needs to redesign the GTO to be like the 69-70 GTO judge. Then they would probably do good.

i was a big fan of the gto and mustang back then prob my two fav muscle cars

 

I think the Monaro Coupe 60 would be fantastic, a fully modern and stylish iteration of the original GTO idiom. And I think it would be a better choice for Pontiac than a Camaro based Firebird, two cars that would cannibalize each others sales. A larger, more luxurious GTO coupe, kind of a thinking man's muscle car, would reside in its own distinct niche and, I think, fare better there.

Hopefully Pontiac would get into some nostalgia flashback and try to make some GTO Judge clownshow, ruining the Coupe 60's classy and stylish looks with a bunch of goofy teenage-level, look-at-MEEEEEeeeee stickers and stick-on trash.

both gto looks good i didnt like the 04 models tho they were quick but their looks i didnt like
