"Now the guys who always say 'what if GM put a SC on an LSx' will know what it can do."

So, a window in the hood and nostil side vents aren't tacky, but the GT-500's nose is? Right.

It's like Clarkson sayds: If you have to explain what it is to a beautiful woman at a cocktail party, It's not cool.

"Oh, nice Corvette"
"Oh it's not just a Corvette, its a ZR-1"
"Ok"
"It goes 0-60 9in 3 sconds and weighs hundreds less than a standard 'Vette"
"Uh-huh"
"The brakes are the size of a ...."
"Ok, you know what, I'm gonna go have hot, beautiful people sex with that guy who just pulled up in a GT."

And then where are you?

Here's a Corvette that:
Still looks like a Corvette
Is instantly recognizable as a Special-Ed Corvette
Looks like something someone would pay over $100k for.

That Callaway is hideous. I'd buy 2 lingenfelter vettes before I bought one of those. Looks like a hideous cross between a Jaguar xkr and the Mach 3 concept with a ton of ugliness mixed in. Thats one reason why I'd bet they sell more ZR1's than that thing its not a vette its an ugly kit car might as well be a v8 fiero with a cheap lambo body on it. And IMO it looks nothing like a vette except the trunk. Pass.

For the record I agree that the GT500 looks good and was pulled off well and yes the hood and clear thing is tacky. The vents stick out a bit much for me as well the need a little more flow but otherwise I love the looks and performance of the ZR1.

Estimated curb weight on the ZR1 is 3350 with the "luxury" package which they didn't say what it consisted of which I'd pass on as well.

+1 on all of it. Especially that Callaway.

I love the shape of the hood on the ZR1, just not the little viewing window... the Corvettes got a ways to go before they can pull off a Ferrari move like that.

suprisingly i guessed 3300 lbs before i had read the weight anywhere.

I was guessing based on how much the z06 weighs plus added extra weight for wheels tires, brakes, SC on engine. minus some pounds of carbon fiber body.

I've hate the Calloway cars ever since the c5 versions. I can deal with his C4's but all C5's to me are butter-faces and I would probably get that new ugly skyline before one of them.

The hood bulge just doesn't fit the lines IMO. I understand there was no way around it and it is an actual cowl hood based on necessity as opposed to looks but it just does not flow as good as I envisioned. Something about muscle car attributes on a sports car just look out of place to me.

Nice car to be sure. I can't wait to see the look on the person's face when my little Mustang pulls away. Little will he suspect that what he has at the flywheel, I will have that and more at the wheels.

Allow me to qualify that. Forged stroker, ported stage 3 heads, Comp Cams Stage III cams, and #15lbs of boost from an aftercooled T-trim Vortech.
