oooh, interesting exhaust set up! A superior model to the 350
Can't wait to see this car, and see what engine it will use... the V8 or the V6 with electric motor help to keep weight down.

I don't get it. Toyo dismisses the V8 route as a handling killer, yet considers electric motors feasible? Electric Motors are heavy as crap (not to mention batteries).
Regardless, this car is exciting.

I was so close to buying an IS 350 it is not even funny.Test drives at two dealers, color choice, options, financing... It was a great handling, good mannered, respectable car.... felt like kissing your sister.
I hope the 500 has some more ***** to it...sound, feel and style different from other cars. Toyota/Lexus has decided to make ALL their cars look the same..IS, Camrys and Solara it's stupid.

I drove my buddy's IS350. What a snore. Steering feel was vague, and the VDIM system can't be turned off, meaning that the car is always trying to override any fun you might be hoping to have. They're quick enough, but in a boring way that only Lexus can achieve.
Sure, they can shoehorn a V8 into this thing and call it an IS500, or whatever, and it will doubtless be fast, but I bet it will still be a Zzzzzzz to drive.
I would MUCH rather have this baby when it comes out next spring (it will be a much more "sporting" car) >>
