I can't wait till the first idiot - gunning for new Mustangs - pulls up to a light and challenges our GTs with one of these things. Oh well, the reign was fun while it lasted <sigh>.

Keep in mind that to purchase a Mustang GT + the bits to get to the 400 Flywheel mark still costs less than it will to buy an M3. The current M3s base price is $48,900 which means once you get it out the door, you're talking $50K. You can bet the new one will be more. They just aren't in the same catagory. Comparing it to the GT500 would be more apples to apples.

if you are talking a light to light street race then the M car is an apples to apples comparison which seems more like what BC was talking about.

Looks like I should go hang out in Death Valley, see if I can capture some videos myself. Wonder how much they pay for a good spy video.

Sounded pretty sweet to me. No way I can afford one though.

I mean stock to stock. Modding doesn't count as a fair comparison, cause you could, of course, mod the M3, too.

I agree the Shelby GT500 will be a more worthy competitor, though I suspect stock for stock the M3 will defeat it, too.
