2008 Accord Coupe

Much better than before, but still awfully derivative. Supposedly it has some form of cylinder deactivation technology >>

There's a lot of borrowed stuff in there: Isuzu; Audi; Hyundai (Tiberon); Infiniti (G35).

I see Lexus IS and Hyundai Tiburon in it. Nice refresh, and it keeps with the character of the Accord. That character being whatever design elements are mainstream at the moment.

Did you notice how upright the grille is, the tall grille opening, the black honeycomb pattern, and the large chrome emblem in the middle? Hondas usually don't have big grilles.

Hmm, a certain pony car is having an effect on the Honda stylists...

It reminds me of modern Acura coupes with just a hint of a boat-tail, and the front reminds a bit of the Acura Vigor, although I can see a bit of R34 Skyline influeance in there too if I squint. (I'm certain that is coincidence) The biggest problem IMO is that it looks nothing like a car Honda would build.

For some reason, when I read this, I instantly thought of Monty Python:

"It's only a model.."

"Shhhhhh!"

Even I have to admit... Honda's mix and match routine proved to be rather smart here. I find this car quite attractive.

Kind of looks "blah" to me. I bet the public will just eat it up, though. Hmm, I see a giant spoiler and 4 huge exhaust tips in this one's future.
