2006 Powerstroke problems...

Alright I have a 2006 F-350 with the infamous 6.0 and I'm needing some help...the truck has 42,000 miles on it and so far I've had to replace the turbo on it. The wedges within the turbo were rusted open so it was producing something like 2.8 psi of boost at idle...the dealer that replaced it said that the problem was Ford had some inferior suppliers that year and rust was an issue. Now after the turbo got replaced (at 32,000 miles) I noticed a sufficient decrease in my mpgs and recently I've noticed a dramatic increase in turbo lag. on top of that the truck is shifting harder. until last week or so I hadn't been driving the truck much since september. So driving it on the interstate it feels like it's not shifting into O/D because the rpm's seem much higher than they usually are at cruising speed they're sitting above 2500 which used to never happen. Also unrelated I was driving to the store the other day and I went to turn on the heat and the whole truck locked up for a second, there was a loud thud and then everything kept on going as normal.

Now I'm thinking about bypassing the egr which some say will help a ton but I'm not sure if I should?????

Also I just don't think a barely broken in diesel should have these issues. Is it in my head or should I cut my losses and upgrade to a 6.7L since it's now out of warranty???

Run from the 6.0 and find an old 7.3 or new 6.7. Everyone I know including myself has had problems with the 6.0

I know it's terrible!!! the 6.0's are a pain in the *** and I really feel like if I don't get rid of it something bad is going to happen but...just don't know if the egr bypass would even be worth seeing if it helped...
