I think it would look better if the trim on the lower bumper was body color.

The front end looks too busy for my taste

i'm fine with the front end except for the grill. The lights and bumper and all that are okay by me.
is this from motor trend?

The headlights remind me of Honda Pilot style w/ the circle turn signal that's receding down into the bumped. I'm not liking that one too much. Sorry Ford :notnice:

What's the deal with this chrome on the top of the bumper directly below the grill all of a sudden!? Uh-hug-lee!!

Just my opinion. (I got a million of 'em)

I am pretty sure that is just a test mule still, just a different picture of the one posted a week or so ago. Notice how the Arizona Beige cladding is only on the front and not all the way around (you can see how they cut it off over the front wheel well). It also is still wearing Aviator wheels. So obviously there is more fine tuning to be done, plus the picture is rather pixilated (sp?) and kinda blurry so I am sure the final result with be a little different...that being said, I don't think it looks better than the old one.

Best pic we have seen yet, though. Thanks for posting!

Ugh... I despise the nose. Other than that, it's fine...

I think it look much better Without the chrome bumper. Also when you chop off the rest of the truck so it looks like the tan piece is whole, it doesnt look too bad.

Exploring its Options: 2006 Ford Explorer gets new face and an optional Mustang V8
BOB GRITZINGER
Posted Date: 5/4/05
When you see this new face on the 2006 Ford Explorer this fall, remember to look behind the grille for what’s really important: a new, higher-output 4.6-liter V8. Like its Mercury Mountaineer sibling that debuted at the Chicago auto show in February, the new-look Explorer gets an optional V8 lifted directly from the 2005 Mustang.

Variable valve timing and three valves per cylinder boost the 4.6-liter’s output to 292 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque, up from 239 hp and 282 lb-ft in the two-valve V8 it replaces. The V8 Explorer also gets a new six-speed automatic transmission.

For those who don’t like change, the base Explorer will still come with the same 4.0-liter, 210-hp, 254-lb-ft V6 and five-speed automatic.

If that is the final form, I have to go admit, it looks pretty good. I am excited to see the interior, because the new Mountaineer's is lightyears ahead of the old one.
