I would say that car would work for a Charger. I dont see a Charger as being a 4 door though. That would be a Coronet. Cmon guys think back :bang: :bang:

Well, four doors does not necessarily mean four full doors, does it? (Think RX-8)... Seems to fit the idea of the Charger better to me than a sedan...

Well nobody (outside of Chrysler) knows for sure, but based on the Magnum you can get a pretty good idea that it will have a 340 hp HEMI and start around $30K US. If they decide to do a HEMI version with a cloth interior and fewer bells and wistles, it could drop a couple thousand.

As far as a bigger HEMI, there doesn't seem to be much reason for them to do that, since they don't have any competition for the current version yet.

I find it interesting that the low-end 300s and Magnums have more sophisticated engines than the top of the line model. The 2.7 V6 has an aluminum block, 4 valves per cylinder, and double overhead cams. The 3.5 V6 makes due with single overhead cams, and the 5.7 HEMI V8 has a cast iron block and pushrods!

I wonder which costs more to produce, the 2.7 V6 or the HEMI? The HEMI has two extra cylinders/pistons/connecting rods, but 1 cam instead of 4, fewer valves, and they don't have to cast cylinder liners into the block. I wouldn't be suprised if the HEMI is actually cheaper to build.

The built the HEMI with pushrods because it was easier to do the variable displacement that way.

I drove the 340 hp Magnum and it was slow. I love the render of the 2 door charger, but that 4 door is awful, IMO. If you are going to make it look like the 300C, then why even build it?

The Charger was a great car in the 60s/early 70s, but a 4 door? Give me a break. Even with a 6.0L the weight in that car would slow it too much for me to consider it. Let me know when they decide to make it a 2 door with similar lines to the 68 SS Charger.

My dad has a 70 in his barn, and I'd take that any day over that 4 door render. His 440 would also kick the **** of that 340hp hemi.

Just thought I'd throw in, did you know they are making a movie for 2006 called Dukes of Hazzard? Wonder what car they will use.

Doesn't matter- they have politicized the General Lee, and Jessica Simpson DOUBLE killed that movie for me. Go get the original on dvd and live on in nostalgia.

oooooo

although this is just a concept, this is pretty impressice IMO

the Charger R/T is supercharged, the 4.7-liter SOHC, 16-valve, V8 engine has the kind of ferocity that results in 325 horsepower.

But Charger R/T is environmentally gentle -- its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel produces negligible emissions at the tail pipes.

I think it will proboly look like this, here is the page it came from 2006 Charger

here is the write up:

2006 Dodge Charger
On Sale : Summer 2005
A rear-drive sedan with a design completely opposite that of its previous design philosophy. This car has long hood, low profile and tons of V8 power courtesy of an all-new Hemi powerhouse. A lower V6 model may also be offered, along with possible coupe and all-wheel-drive variations. Of course, it also packs numerous Mercedes Benz parts
