Ed, it's pretty confusing reading this.
Are you saying that the Mustang GT is going up $10,000.......or is this the total amount of several model vehicles? This post gives the impression of the former, but then you mention $400-500 towards the end of the post.
Which is it?

Capital Ford in Raleigh - and Crossroads Ford in Raleigh/Cary each have a GT (not Mustang !)in the showroom. The one at Captial is out in the open - the other is behind ropes. Sticker on one is $157,000. Gas mileage estimates for both city and highway are higher on the Ford GT than some triton V-8 F-150s.
Capital Ford has had three of these - one sold for $250,000. Nice.

Uhhh..... I don't get it.
When you want to increase sales, don't you normally LOWER the price?
This must be a move to help the dealers with early 2005's sell their cars, and it must mean that the 2006's were already going to be priced $10K higher.
But they only sold 150 GTs in June (see FordGTprices.com ), even at the ever-dropping prices, so I'm not sure if raising the price is the right idea......

An increase of $10k isn't going to bother anyone who can afford this car. They've already sold for obscene amounts over MSRP, but those days are slowly going by. I just hope that the geniuses who paid way over sticker were able to turn the cars over for a profit. Otherwise they're going to end up eating a huge chunck of change. Oh well. Caveat emptor.
