2005 Ferrari 575 Superamerica

Do I hear a Magnum PI remake? LOL
Very nice looking, most targas just look like an after thought of the car, but this is some serious engineering, I just wonder how well that thing is going to hold up to high speed driving?

James i agree with you..reminds me of what jeremy said about them and AM. Ferrari's styling is boring. I realy think they've lost the way. I can remeber (pre testarosa days) i used to drool when i saw a new ferrari. Now i just go oh well...hope they baught the exteneded warrenty and move onto a more exciting car.. like say............................................... ....the new GTO.
(really hope i don't have to explain that joke )

Nice car! Targa top looks nicely done. The rear flare thats goes into the door almost looks exactly like what is on the C6. I'd love to see this car as a hardtop. It's a lot cleaner looking than the new Modena.
Ironically the new Modena has a nice smile as well.

Sorta re-iterates what was said in the first article, just a little more concisely!!
New Models: Ferrari Superamerica convertible in Detroit
24 Nov 04 14:56
Ferrari is to launch a convertible based on the 575M Maranello at January's Los Angeles and Detroit Auto Shows. The Superamerica, designed by Pininfarina, is described by Ferrari as a "berlinetta", and the company claims that with a top speed of 199mph, it will be the fastest drop-top production car on sale. Its carbonfibre-structure roof, developed by Fioravanti, has a unique rotating mechanism enabling it to drop or raise in just 10 seconds, and it features electrochromatic glass roof panels enabling the driver to control how much light enters the cabin, with five tint settings. Ferrari calls the technology Revocromico. Boot space remains unchanged whether the roof is up or down, and the rear glass window acts as an effective wind deflector when the roof is down.
The V12 5748cc engine has been boosted to 540bhp and 589lb ft of torque, and it will be offered with either F1-style clutchless transmission or a manual gearbox. Options will include the GTC handling package, which adds carbon ceramic brakes.
The Superamerica is a limited edition model aimed, as its name suggests, at the US market, though a tiny number may be imported to the UK to special order. Prices and more details will be revealed at the motor shows in the New Year.

ehhh...the 550 Barchetta looks better.
I don't care for the new Ferraris. Period.
The Enzo is beyond ugly, the 612 almost as bland as the new Pontiac GTO, the 430 little different from the 360 and has Oldsmobile Aurora front bumper. I still think the 360 Modena's head lights resemble a Hyundai's head lights.
Give me a 95 512M with a flat-12.
