Since the Stratus / Sebring are somewhat competitors to the V6 Mustang..........

Daimler/ Chrysler has announced that the Chrysler Sebring & Dodge Stratus 2 door coupes will end production after the 2006 model year. The convertibles and 4 door models will continue to be made beyond 2006.

Trevor Creed, senior VP of product deveopment for the Chrysler Group said: "Two-door coupes have had their day. Two doors and four seats is a formula that doesn't work anymore."

Good thing someone forgot to tell Ford about this.

That's too bad, I kinda liked the look of the Sebring when it first came out. I didn't like the test drive though :notnice:

I still think Mr. Creed's new Charger will not work as a 4-door.

That is the understatement of the year, it will be less popular than the GTO was. The GTO maynot have been good enough looking but at least they had the basic formula there, big engine in a relatively small car.

I am glad Ford got it right, they hit a home run, now if they could just get some GT's on the lots.

That thing is aweful. D-C really missed a great opportunity to bring back a true legend. It looks like a 300 from the side and a Dakota from the front. Ford hit a homerun w/ the '05, D-C can't even play the game. :notnice:

I had one as a rental car once. The whole car felt cheap to me. IMO it's no wonder they're going away.

wow, i guess i am the only one who thinks the front end on the charger is nice. coulda been better yes, but i still like it. of course i like my little SRT8 chop better.

i dont hate the four door per se. if it were offeren in both a four and two door (ala G35) i think it'd be a big hit.

my SRT8 vision:

I view this new charger about the same as GM's goat. Great idea bringing back the old name. Great idea in putting your best affordable high HP engine in. Completely blew it in styling and making your reincarnation nothing like the predecesor (spelling?).

Their designers are to blame for these blunders.

They were speaking to one of the local TV news guys who is supposed to be into "cars" and NSCAR and such Thursday about the new charger.

He said it looked great and had enough "lines" to remind you of the old charger.
What an idiot. :notnice:

I remember reading somewhere that the designers actually wanted to put a more retro front end on the Charger, but the higher-ups pulled the plug and said it had to look like the rest of the current Dodge family.
And what lines are the same as the old one??? I see no resemblance at all. Oh well, you would've thought that they would've learned from Pontiac's mistake.

I think it will sell well, very well, but it's no Charger....just a high hp grocery getter with a classic name...in other words...."You Can Put A Candle In a Cowpie, but that doesn't make it a Birthday Cake."

I think the new Charger is hideous. The GTO looks like another Grand AM to me. The Mustang looks MUCH,MUCH better in my opinion.

Whoa, don't blame the designers...

Its a good looking car....but the guys in marketing had to have a "Charger"...while the penny pinchers in accounting wanted to make use of the 300 platform...

From what I heard, the designers tried to get the '99 Charger concept to work using 300 parts...but the high beltline threw everything out of wack

ya, you guys are nuts! the charger is a sweet car, much better than the 300 or 500. everybody's just upset that they slapped an inappropriate name on it. I think it'll sell very well.

ummm, sorry if i went over the top with the "nuts" comment. you guys are alright!

I like everything but the front. It's fugly IMHO. If they'd change the front (and the name), then I'd consider it.
