'16 Camaro Leaked Day Before Reveal!
#21
I think the expectations were high (like prior to the introduction of the S550), that with a clean slate to start with (new underpinnings and new footprint), the new design would be a radical departure from the current product. I don't see it--at least on the web. Maybe seeing the actual vehicle will leave a different impression.
What I see is that the new silhouette falls somewhere between the outgoing Camaro and the new Mustang--something very familiar. The rear end is--hmmm. I personally don't find it ugly, but it does seem very GM generic, almost Toyota bland. Not that that's bad, it just seems an odd choice for a company wanting to launch an "exciting" new sports coupe.
I think the same is true of the front. I don't think it is ugly--it just doesn't seem quite distinctive enough for the nameplate. Having said that, it does appear that they have moved and slimmed the A-pillar which should help resolve some of the visibility issues.
Just my .$02

I want to make a judgment but I have to see more before I do. I like how there v6 puts out more horsepower than the turbo 4. I'd really like to see Ford do that and let us make up our minds on which we prefer.

Well here it is....
My reaction, the front end looks better but I still dont like the side or rear. The interior is too busy for my liking.

It's not ringing my bell, inside or out. It just doesn't look special, nor does the redesign appear well thought out.
With as much criticism as the new Mustang received initially, the S550 simply blows the Camaro out of the water.

I agree, it seems like GM was trying to appease the die hard camaro enthusiasts with a refreshed version of a car they probably already have.

Trying to be unbiased since i like mustangs more... but I just don't really see how this can be labeled a 6th gen. The body isn't really a redesign, more of a refresh. sure the platform is different and all but...just doesn't scream wow to me. Now the s550 doesn't scream to me either but I would still take it over the new maro. I feel like the s550 is more of a redesign then the 16 camaro turned out to be.
But good on them on actually dropping the weight of the car, it will get the 15 s550 a run for its money for sure. there will be a lot of sad gt owners that get burned by it.

Not impressed with the design at all, looks like they just copy the 5th gen Camaro and made it a tiny bit smaller. The interior looks better than the current Camaros, but it doesn't look right with the odd placing of the buttons and the air vent in the center. I think they should have got rid of the bow tie badges and just placed the Camaro badges in the front and the back.
