I ran up against a 300C SRT8 a few years ago. It was trapping at about 102 or 103. This at 2500 ft. Wicked top end on those things. I smoked it off the line but it caught up. Passed me the first time. Almost did the second time, too.

Chrysler has done a perfect job on this one ! Went to a dealers to see my first one and it was LOOKING GOOD ! I was very impressed under the hood with how clean it was.
I don`t think the people buying this car are worried about gas mileage.
I still love my Mustang though, no trade off here !

Is it the same 6.1L that the other SRT8s use? If so, its a great engine to start off with, but while it does respond well, it doesnt respond as well as GM and Ford V8s from what I read on dodge forums. Still, would rather supercharge my S197, but definitely think this is a hit on the bullseye for Chrysler.
Regardless, I'm glad to see American automakers taking no shorts and kicking a-- again. The big 3 are back at it again, turning heads, setting bars, and ripping the streets.

Wow! Thanks for the cool vid.
I must say,....I am surprised to see these cars only pulling high 13's - 14's. I also think they look fantastic, and figured they were going to spank our GT's with ease, given the c.i.'s under the hood. That does not seem to be the case, at least not for now.

I don't think there's any way those were 09's. They were 08's.
Don't think for a minute that these times are indicative of the Challenger though. Don't forget, the existing SRT8's are low to mid 13 second cars, and the Challenger won't be any different. Faster than our GT's for sure.
I saw two Challengers at a show this weekend - both orange. One was parked next to a Shelby GT Mustang. It was fun seeing them side by side, and all I could think was how good they both looked.
I'd love to have a Challenger, I think it's a great car, but with 20k in mine, and only about 15k on the note, I have a hard time with the idea of a big new loan, and starting all over with modifications. With that said, if they release the 500+hp 6.4 in '10 it might be impossible to resist.

Went by work the other day to do a few things and this was sitting outside. I don't see any new car in my future at the prices they're going for. Personally, I like the older body styles(Mustangs) anyway.
