Its fdunny when they say they have to do something about street racing when they just sit on their hineys....if they wana do something they should open a darn track in the GTA because u need to go 2 hours east or 2 hours west to get to the nearest track....i think if they oioened a track in the GTA it would significantly drop street racing incidents..

Derek,
There is no chance of a dragstrip being built near the GTA
Land prices have skyrocketed, with development growing at such a fast pace, that dragstrip would be surronded in no time.
Cayuga and St. Thomas are not that far away from the West end (1.5 hours roughly for each). Even they have to put up with numerous noise pollution complaints from the locals.
The two kids in this incident were two spoiled idiots. Two 18 year olds each driving a Mercedes through a twisty road in a built up urban area. Street racing has been around ever since the 2 guys have lined up at an intersection in model T's . For the most part though, a race down a deserted country road or industrial park at midnight doesnt' bother me that much.
I do like to run through the gears with my car sometimes, but I use enough common sense to do it out of harm's way.
Its a shame that a working stiff paid a price for their stupidity.

That is called the American Dream... the canadian dream is if you get into the NHL!
“He was working to . . . reunite his family in Canada, and lived the Canadian dream,” said Bell.
