Thanks! The merc is a 100% Canadian product made for Canada but could be sold to the states if someone wanted one .
In march of 1968 the last true merc pickup came off the assembly line ( rebadgeing of Ford trucks was done untill the end of the year if you wanted a merc) Because the production numbers were mixed in with the fords it is not known how many were made for 68 best guess is 3 or 4 thousand .This one was a custom factory ordered one from the origional owners with the camper special leaf and spring package installed on a 1/2 ton body or M100 as it is known ...my guess is a few hundred were special ordered .

It now has 47500 miles on her and has been serviced by Ford every spring from the previous owners since day one and has only gone camping and has never seen snow .I phoned ford of Canada and they verified all the info for me and then the cool thing was that Ford of Detroit phoned me asking about the truck and if I had any more info on the merc's and they gave me all the info they had on them ....very cool

This thread is still going?? What, are all 5 people with internet in the praries have this topic in their favorites? I'm teasing again.....

Hey, apparently 17 oil workers from Alberta won the 54million. I always like seeing a group of people win vs. one.

Nice. If they buy some oil deposit they could turn it into billions.

sure they make lots of money on the rigs, but the only way for it to add up is to not drink it away every night.

as for the 54 mil. we were talking about that at supper today. If you won that, u'd have to go into hiding or just vanish. it would be nice to have the money, but your personal life would be ruined

Most of those guys are students trying to pay the ridiculous costs of school or regular guys trying to support their families. Oil workers only make about $15-20/ hour and it is HARD HARD work in conditions that can get pretty brutal. The reason they are making a lot is cause they work 12 hour days for 14 days straight. They deserve every bit of that money, not too many people work harder than them. And i'm not just saying this cause I am some redneck Albertan, i actually hate the way the oil companies work, but i know the rig guys work hard for every cent they earn, so show some respect.
