Mustang Meet July 2006 ...

Hi Everyone, I'm new to TMS and recently took delivery of my 2006 GT Performance White Mustang. I also have a friend that has a 2005 Black GT. I was wondering if anyone in the Toronto Area or surrounding areas would be interested in a casual meet one night at maybe a local spot ??

I'm totally new at this and I'm dying to see a bunch of Stangs together in one place.

I'm also interested in joining a local Mustang Club if there's one in the GTA or surrounding area.

Please let me know of any upcomming Mustang meets cause I'll be there for sure !!!

Thanks, Brian

Hey Brian,

The local mustang club to be involved in is gtamc www.gtamc.com

They do some local meets every friday at Sqaure One in mississauga (at least they used to, the security guard seems to harass people)

They also do other weekly mini-meets around the city, check their forums

We've gone to those meets, in addition to creating our own get togethers as well.

I want to organise another track day at Cayuga in the late summer

Hey Brian,
Many of the gtamc members are from all years, while i'd say the majority of people here on TMS Canada forum are 05 owners. i meet up wiht some car friends of mine most friday's at a starbucks on avenue road, but i'm the only mustang owner, as it started as a "toronto audi owners group". 1/2 the people don't own audis anymore, but we still hang out.

we should set something up locally here instead of loitering in a parking lot at square one.

Otherwise, I don't know how many bodies we have to just meet up one evening for coffee,

Locally Dan, Kristina, simon, derek and me are the common GTA people.

If enough people are up for it, I could take a little drive out somewhere next week

I'm in the west end

It has been a while since I've had the chance to check out whats been going on in the TMS. I would be interested in meeting up locally as well, on some evening. As the name suggest I'm from the east GTA.

hey brian and all,
that sounds cool - maybe next thursday or friday night? just depends on if i'm going up north to the cottage.

i'm in the 'west' end of the city, but to some of you i guess i'm central. i live in the high park area.

I'm up for anything not too far east, and not too late, I drive too much and don't sleep enough as it is. Thursday is best for me.

Anyone interested chime in so we can figure out a central place for everyone, I'm from Brampton

Pending work schedule I will drop by as well. I know there are a few parts of town where a lot of cars meet and no harrasment, Kennedy Commons always has a lot of cars on a WED, as does Weston and 7 on the same day of the week. Lots of clubs meet at Kennedy commons on wed and the police and/or security seem to stay away. If I am not at work I'll pop by for sure.

OK - so sounds like it's next Thursday, the 20th.

Let's decide on locations. There's the Pickle Barrel or Starbucks at Sherway Gardens, which is kind of handy, on the QEW and 427. There's the Tim Hortons at Weston and 401, decidely more ghetto of a location. There's Yorkdale - a few restaurants there too. There's places around Square One too.

We should stick to central TO I think to make it fair. Just need to decide North (yorkdale ish?) or south (sherway ish?). What do you guys think? I'd rather keep it out of the outer burbs, like west Mississauga, Pickering, Brampton etc. Just my $0.02

My preferance would be North TO, Yorkdale sounds good. But will try to make it wherever.

Thursday sounds good for to me, there is a slight chance of rain if that matters to anyone. Yorkdale sounds fine to me. Don't be offended if I show up late or leave early. I have a hella bad schedule

Off topic. An early morning saturday drive to Cayuga sounds good, if you want good times the air has to be cool and dry. I was there last night for test n tune and it was horrible. I did 2 very sloppy runs, one decent one.

TTT

So who's up for it?

If John is making the trip from whitby, then it would be nicer for him if we got together at Yorkdale, otherwise, Sherway works for me as well.

Hey guys - I'm cool with yorkdale. we just need a suggestion on where exactly to meet, and if you want food (i.e. rainforst cafe etc) or just coffee, in which case we can find a starbucks or something that has close access to parking lots.
