Heart broken
Saw Simon and the car today at his house...... its terrible to see such a nice hood smashed up like that. And not to mention the damage to the cross-beam over the windshield and the windshield itself. But on a positive note I have no doubt that Simon can get her back to the original condition with a bit of time and $$ (hopefully the insurance will cover that part).
That must have been some experience......
Stay positive Simon, it'll be back to new by next spring

That really urns my stomach, I hate to see thing slike this happen. I really hope you get it back together soon before winter although if you dont you wil have all winter to work on it and many other things. I wish I could have seen the project before this happened but I look forward to seeing what you do next
Well I gotta say, that's terrible, who the heck would do such a thing. Man alive!
One thing I thought of, for the future maybe you could have a bungee cord safety of some sort that you release by reaching in under the front bumper, not sure it would hold at highway speeds though.
Or if you can connect some high-current wires to the hood pins

Oppps sorry:
From another post
Seems that someone thought it would be funny to unlatch my hoodpins.
65km an hour and BAMMMM
Now i have no hood, no windshield and the top rail is all banged up.
All that fickin work for nothin. Not to mention $$$$
I wish i seen who it was.
Don't know where to start.
Not only is that something that only a disrespectful donkey named jack would do, that could've been really dangerous. If you were driving down a highway and the hood flipped up it could've been worse. But that really sucks anyways dude. Some people just make me sick.
Took her into the bodyshop today.
He is more concerned about the top rail than the hood.
But says its fixable.
He might bondo the hood to a clean surface , then do a fibreglass mold.
PLease keep your fingers crossed.

Best thing & I hope nobody was hurt ! and yes most disturbing indeed , but materials can be repaired or replaced. Maybe in future hood pins can be locked ? as if we have the need before we set out to do a walk around inspection.
