Ford of Canada will be getting 200 Ford GTs.
The first 100 will be built starting late March and into April and May. The second 100 will be built in September 2006. They build GT's at a rate of 7 per day.
Ford of Canada has a formula for distibution, but no dealer will get more than one.
There are changes in crash impact requirements that take effect in the U.S. on September 1, but not in Canada. So the last run of Ford GTs built after September 1 will all be coming to Canada, and will not be legal for sale in the U.S. Someone in Canada will get the last Ford GT built (second last if Ford keeps the last).
Ironic since it was the 5mph Bumper requirement that kept them out of Canada till now.
We (at Whiteoak F/L) are getting ours around the end of April. We have pre-sold it at list price of $189,999 (99 in keeping with the Gretzky theme) plus freight of $2,500 and stripes for $6,000. We could only submit the customer's first three colour choices. At $200,000, Ford still would not guarantee the colour!
Our customer (presumably) will be keeping it. He is getting rid of a Viper to make room.

A Ford GT just drove by me yesterday on a street near my house. White with blue stripes. Not sure if its Franco's.....might be.

Franco's is red with white Stripes, but he recently got a canadian version in that he had sold prior to getting it, so that could be the one who saw.

My buddys dad paid $222,000 for a heritage blue with the upgraded wheels and stereo. Thats with taxes, delivery, etc. It was quite a bit less than what I was expecting since most of the dealers around here seem to be selling them for upwards of 250 grand with the regular paint schemes.

He got ripped, big time. Ford GTs are now selling close, if not at, MSRP. There are several dealers in this area that can't even get offers on their GTs because they made potential buyers so anger with $50K to $100K adjusted market demand prices.
Wow, $222K?

All the ones on ebay are selling for right around 200cdn, so you throw in the taxes and youre pretty **** close to 222.
