If you have never driven the cobra, you should go drive it. You just might realize that it will be worth waiting for the '07.

 

If they have very many, I bet you can get it for invoice minus the rebate (here the '03 is $1500. '04 is $0).

Since the Spoiler delete is going to happen in 05 for the stang. Theres talk about swaping trunk lids over the boarder. Well with shipping( unless u pic it up yourself) and getting it across the boarder. would it be cheaper just to go to the body shop? I think the swap would be. but you never know.

Depends where you live...

I live not even 2 hours from buffalo.. so if I can find a dealer that will swap decklids, I can drive down there on a saturday, get it done and declare nothing at the border.. the only way I am busted is if the customs guy is a Mustang Freak

The bodyshop will charge at least $200-$300 to get it off. They have to weld the holes shut, paint BOTH sides of the trunk. The worst part is, if you get a color like Sonic where there is a lot of color-shift, there is a chance they don't match the paint.

I'm not sure I can afford even $40k + tax + ext. warranty. Maybe, depending on if I can get a good trade-in for my Probe.

But its still the old design, and worse, the old interior.

The 05 looks better or at least equal IMO. But there is something about being "Top Dog" in the 'Bra and the 425 actual hp.

I don't know who you sold those magic beans to, but I don't have that kind of money lying around... and with that kind of power you need a winter beater. I would slap you if I saw that car in the snow.

 

Ah, I'm 05. I love the car. But the wait can get to you sometimes. And looking at the Cobra's driving around.....man, would be some nice instant satisfaction.

But for that much money for a last generation car and with the 05 being as amazing as it is, the decision to buy a cobra would be foolish on my part. I don't really have that kind of money either.

Sure, it may have 100hp over the new GT but man that new GT is going to be such a great all around car.

Everyone gets tempted, even those of us that have preached 05 from the beginning. <and sometimes a good slap is in order>
