I want to see the 05 so bad. I'm going to the Show and Shine care show in Moose Jaw this summer. maybe it will be there. Most likely not though. But anyways. Theres all this talk about "oh my dealer said 05's will on the floor in Sept". Ok thats fine and dandy. But when will canada see them? My dealer tould me around Christmas. But he doesn't know much about the 05. I know more than him. He said a car like that he can see hitting the lots in Canada are Start of Dec. I hope to God its a GT. but I don't think so. The V6's gotta go somewhere. and I can see small dealers getting the crappy end of it. But very nice cars also. Spoiler is Stock on the V6 in canada . Which is nice. But anybody know anything else about Canada 05's?

Check the canadian order guide to see what we get.

As for shipment/job1 ... ours is different.

Here is what I was quoted by someone I know:

Job 1 is mid September, with first drops in November. Only the coupes will be built until February. when the convertibles will be built and shipped out in early April. The first build in September is very tight. Only 430 vehicles will be built for Canada, not even one per dealer. Then there will only be 1900 built for Canada for December and January.

Emailed a few local dealerships, got a response from one outside of Toronto.

In their words:
Hello Steve,
Very exciting, the new Mustang!!!! Cannot wait until it arrives at the dealership.
I checked with our new car Manager, and resident Mustang guru, there is no spoiler delete for the GT. A bodyshop can remove the spoiler is so desired.
The order bank is indeed open. Our dealership has allocation for 8 vehicle for October and November. Six of this orders have already been placed. If you are interested in placing an order I would be more than happy to help you out with that
So it seems to be pretty much confirmed that there is no spoiler delete in Canada. Note this is a big dealership and Blue Oval Certified so they will be getting a lot of cars.

A body shop will have to remove it?? That sucks. That means we'll have to pay more for the car to pay for the spoiler, then pay even MORE to get it taken off. :notnice: I'm disappointed Ford. Very disappointed. I hope that only applies to the GT. I don't want a spoiler on my V6 and having it forced on me is a deal breaker for me.

I like to guess that is Dixie Ford just because 8 would go to a big dealer..... am I right?

Yeah, and that's why I may not get mine. I have a feeling that by the time I'm ready to buy mine (~2008), they'll have the spoiler delete as an option. If not, I guess I could just try and find someone in the states with a V6 in the same colour that wants to swap trunk lids. Oh well, that'll be a while from now anyways.

I don't know alot about a car's aerodynamics, but I see everyone's dislike of the spoiler. What makes it better to be without a spoiler?

Some people like the 'clean' look of not having the spoiler.
Some people think the spoiler is a tacked on, useless piece that does nothing....

I could care less...
If its there, it won't hurt me..if I can get a spoiler delete, I will...(which looks like I don't have a choice in canada)

I went by Dixie Ford on the weekend. Gorgeous redfire Cobra coupe there. I had some really evil thoughts standing beside it. What an awesome car. Some of that feeling left me though when I looked in the window and was reminded of that poor interior.

I still think the 05 looks better (especially with nice 18's and wide tires). But the power and looks of the 04 Cobra can make you forget about the 05 when you are standing beside it.

I can't go back there because I'm not sure what I would do.

Dan...

Let me guess.. you went there because of the promotion I was telling you about..

Boomer,
I am seriously considering maybe even swapping decklids with a dealer in Buffalo or something, maybe i'll call Lockport's Gambino Ford. That way I am the only one in Canada without a spoiler

well my order has been placed. I know the dealers sometimes don't know much, but even ford.ca is saying the mustang will be available late September. If mine doesn't arrive until November I'll tell the dealer to forget it and pick up one in the spring. One less winter for it to see.

Moochers eh? Maybe you need a C/T like "Somewhere along the line, a Canadian must have $hit in my cornflakes"
