looking for Good tinting place 1/2 north of NYC

Looking to get my sides and back windows tinted. I would like to get 25% so its safe in keeping the authorities happy. I don't feel like going 35% and get sh^t for it... know what I mean? what do you feel is the darkest tint to get that does not **** the local authorities off in NY? are people going darker on the back window and lighter on the sides? what is the best tint brand to be used on the car?

lastly and most important please recommend the best place to get a great tint job done at a fair price about 1/2-1 hour north of NYC. Thanks in advance.

You're looking for 45% tint, judging by what you said. Don't just look for a good tint shop, make sure you get quality film.

absolutly... However, I don't kno what is quality film. I am a bit confused about the % according to tintlaws.com in NY you are supposed to have 70% light transmition so whats the % that I should be looking for to be legal??? 70%? or 30%???

I'm partial to LLumar but the price gets up there and there are other good brands to look at.

70%. The percent of the film is light transmission. I believe that the factory windows already have an 89% light transmission, meaning your windows are already tinted from the factory.

interesting thing happened today... after calling a guy in my area and asking if they do legal tinting in NY state I got a lecture of how you could go 20 feet and get a citation or 20 years... the guy tells me that tinting is illegal... lol than why is he offering it? I call another guy and he tells me that I need to go there so he can show me the tint rather than explain if he can/can't do a legal tint job. whats up here? does anyone know if you can get a car legally tinted in NY? I just want to keep as much heat and UV from ruining my interior...LEGALLY
