I haven't really thought about buying a 05 because I really like NOT having a car payment.

But, I am a little curious about this group purchase idea. Are we talking fleet purchase discount or something?

i talked to my local ford dealer (sheehy ford in Springfield, VA) and the sales manager (phil). I told him, with atleast two purchases, i wouldnt expect to pay anything over invoice. he said for two or more confirmed sales, that would not at all be a problem. if we could get a few people together, we'll prolly get invoice if not just a little less. if sheehy wont give it to us for what we want to pay, i dont mind doing the work to find a local dealer that will.

also, i dont mind driving down to wherever you are to patronize any particular dealer if you think they'll hook us up.

edit: this entire post is assuming you decide to get an 05 also, boomer, dan, and a one other person, i think, are considering a bulk purchase up in canada. if it'd work for them, i dont see why it wouldnt here in VA

I may be wrong but I do believe that I heard you could order any Ford through the Internet and that they would deliver it to a Dealer you pick and if I remember right that means you pay MSRP ONLY! But, like I said I could be wrong about this.

Something to think about. I have not had time to look at this link too much but you may want to check it out totally first.
