Where to have Stangstock 2008?
 

Okay all of you Midwesterners,
We have started to chat about where would be a good place and time for having Stangstock 2008. I thought I would start a new thread confined to the subject more so it didn't get lost in our daily chatter. Here are a few of the ideas thrown out so far.

Shelby Spring Fling - May 16th-18th in Brown County State Park

McCormick Creek State Park in Spencer,In.

MCA Regional Show - June 20th-22nd - Dublin, Ohio

Indian Lake State Park - Russels Point, Ohio

We can add to this list as other ideas come up. I for one do not have a problem driving 3-4 hours and spending the night somewhere to meet at a more central location to all of us. So post your thoughts and maybe we can get something setup in the next few weeks that we can all make arrangements for.

I have been to this event in the past few years. It is a great event also. I am surprised that I have only got :popcorn:. At this rate we will never have a meet this year.

Sorry, not trying to be uncooperative, it's just that I really don't care where it is as long as it's within 3-4 hours from me..... I just want to get together and hang out, don't care where.

Although, STD's suggestion in post #5 sounds good. :D

Bringing this back to the top for some further discussion. I was surprised by the lack of opinions on where everyone would like to get together. So let's try it again.

It really doesn't matter to me or the wife. I enjoyed Brown County also, the MCA show in Columbus sounds good also. My only concern with that is/was the ability to relax and enjoy the get together. I guess you can put me down for Brown County also.

For all the good it does. Doesn't seem to be much interest in Stangstock 08.

Well since we've gotten people willing for Brown County again, let's just plan on that and next step is to establish the date.....

I agree. Would a mid summer date be good? Say later in July or August? I am not sure how many will show up but I intend to go and meet Darrell for the MCA meet in Dublin Ohio in June. I hope a few others will come also for a mini Stangstock 08! As much as I would like a hugh get to-get-her for the Midwest guys....I know there is only a handful that at willing to make the trek. So how many would be willing to sign up for a mid summer meet at Brown County, Ind and how many can make the MCA event in Ohio in June?? Lets make some plans!!

Give me some info on that MCA meet in Dublin please....... I'll have to check it against the other dates I have scheduled for shows this year- if I can, I'll come over. I'd rather do Stangstock in early September if we could... months of May thru August are pretty busy for me.

But, let's get some other involvement and feedback from other members too! What sayeth you dudes?

I agree with the September - October time frame for Stangstock '08'. I am tentatively planning on coming to the MCA show in Dublin. Don't get a show that size that close everyday. I just want to see it, I won't be showing.

Okay...it sounds like Darrell, Ben, Me, maybe Tom and I am guessing Larry will show up at the MCA meet in late June for a mini Stangstock 08. We can meet up over in Brown County again in August-October. So first off....Larry can you make it in June?? How about all the other Midwesterns?? Can we meet twice this year??

Offer still stands for a cookout @ my place after, during, whenever.
My only limitation is parking. I live on Main St in Marysville.I've got room for 5 cars in my drive, any more & I'll have to plan.

Brown County sounds like the best place to have the 'official' Stangstock 08. I'd also suggest a July/Aug. time frame.
I'll be in for that one as well.

Okay great to hear from you Larry...You have been traveling alot the last couple of weeks. Looks like we have Larry, Me and Darrell as firm for the MCA event in Dublin in June and Tom and Ben as strong maybes...Any other of you guys can make this event??? It was called Naked City back in the 80's but the original owner got in some legal trouble and had to leave Indiana. From what I understand its still open..but I figured Tom would know for sure......:poke:

I grew up in Northern Indiana, I know exactly where Potato Creek and Naked City are.

I believe the Dublin, OH show is "full".

I'll check with some of the people up here, I might be able to get a few of us to Brown Co., if you come up with a date.
A lot of us have been to the Shelby Spring Fling there, and have loved it.

When you say the Dubin show is full I assume you are talking about entries in the car show? I believe most of us were not entering our cars, just an opportunity for a place to meet up. As far as Brown County goes we had a great time last fall. I think we may try to have it earlier this year maybe August or September. Come on down.

Okay you Midwest guys. It doesn't look like there is alot of interest in Brenspeeds dyno day on May 24th for a meet and greet. The next opportunity is June 20-22 (I think) in Dublin Ohio for the MCA meet. I know Darrell is coming down. I am in...I beleive Larry is in...And I believe Tom will make the trip. I also believe the Justin said he will take a couple of days off and make the trip from way over where his is at. This event is only about 5 weeks away so if we are going to make it a meet and greet.....lets get it done!!!

Any intrest still in getting togther later this summer or early fall? I've got a trip to Myrtle Beach planned sometime in Aug, but am open otherwise.

Well, the one in Dublin is looking better -

I may end up there rather than the Shelby meet in Brown County which is this weekend. Two reasons.

1. My car may not be ready.
2. It may rain Saturday.

Looks like Dublin is about 2.75 hours away. How big is the MCA event?

Stay in touch. If you want to come over the night before and stay in Springfield (About 1 hour shy of Dublin) Karen and I will buy dinner!!:nice: And I believe this is one the the top 5 MCA events in the country!!

Last I heard was it is a sellout with over 380 Mustangs entered. I did get in and will be in the 07 to present class. I don't know how moblie we will be with the car in the show, both the Misses and me are staying at the Marriott. You guys will have to come down and see us from your Dude Ranch:grin:

Where exactly is the meet being held at. (Location)? Fairgrounds, park,etc? I don't care to enter a car just come see the other cars and hook up with fellow stangers.

The show is going to be held in the motel(s) parking lots.

Should be easy to find than. Wonder how the weather will be that day and whether I have the guts to drive the 70' that far from home.

As far as I know I will be able to be there, might drive most of the way that Friday night after work. I will most likely stay out that way that night and drive back Sunday.
