Hey folks, I'm going to the EMCO Gears Classic Grand American Cup race at Mid-Ohio to watch the debut of the Rehagen Racing/TheMustangSource.com 2005 Mustang GT Grand-Am racer. Is anyone going to be around for a little get-together on the 27th?
If I can get off work I will more than gladly meet up there.
I may drive up Saturday to Columbus . . not sure at the moment.
What are you thinking? Are you going to be around after practice on Saturday? Or are you staying to watch the DP race Saturday evening THEN going to Columbus?
I'm 100% going to the race on Sunday . . .

I'm considering driving up to the race. Is this an OK event to bring children to? I have an 8 and 11 yr. old that I was considering bring up for the event.
I've never been to a Grand Am race and I've never been to Mid-Ohio. Does anyone have any recommendations for a rookie like myself.
Thanks!

Mike-
Since I don't have children I may not be the best person to answer your question, but I would think if the little ones like cars they would have a great time.
You do not have to stay confined to a section of seating, so you can walk around, and still view the race if the little ones start to get bored. They may think it is loud, so earplugs might not be a bad idea for them.

If it's anything like Birmingham, it's a great place for kids as long as they wear plenty of sunscreen and have ear plugs. The cars' sound isn't too bad for adults, but could be harmful for small children. Most tracks sell earplugs on site.
Yea, it looks like Sunday will be better for me as well. Any specified meeting point yet, or just hope I get lucky when I get there?

I'll be there all day Saturday and Sunday. You can page me with your forum user name, first name, and phone number, and we'll meet up at the track.
