I know there has to be a club around here (Naperville, IL) somewhere...
My question is...when the 05 Stang finally hits the streets(sometime around Columbus day, hopefully) around here would any locals be interested in getting together and hitting up a Portillos or similiar place to meet and greet and drool over our new toys?

Of course, anyone with the classics would be welcomed as well...

Any thoughts/comments/ramblings?

Next to Taco Bell, Portillo's IS my next favorite place on the list of "health" food, so a Mustang Meet would be cool.

I'm in Roselle (Schaumburg, Bloomingdale area), and although there's no official Mustang Club, a bunch of em' meet every Thursday evening along with many Chevy autos at a local lot...

ANYways, let me know when you get your new Stang, as I've ordered mine too. Maybe this board will have other new owners as well since a few people are holding out until the cars actually are on the lots before they buy (what's wrong with them?! j.k)

How I miss Portillos.

 

I emailed Brad on this very subject.
My suggestion was to have a nationwide rally of sorts by region or state or whatever all on the same day. Probably next spring. He thought it was a great idea and will be posting something on it in the future.

I'm thinking sometime around mid-October, us new S197 owners in the Chi-town area should meet...maybe Columbus day weekend if the weather is ok, just keep the comments and thoughts coming in B)

Hey Frank, thanks for the compliment on my site -- much appreciated, really! As for Portillo's, you've got TWO?! What's up with that, lol? I go thru Glen Ellyn often since I attend College of DuPage part-time, but no one has ever mentioned that fact to me (and I know people who eat lunch and dinner there daily ).

As for Columbus Day, that sounds great if we all have our Stangs delivered by then. Friendly Ford in Roselle here says I am 3rd in line for a Mustang and all 3 preorders will come in simultaneously. Maybe.

Did you order yours yet and what did they tell ya? My dealer really is keeping me in the dark, but I truly believe they don't know anything either... this is why I don't get how some people already have a build date when my dealer can't even put the order thru yet.

 

Yeah, Naperthrill has a Portillos on Ogden Ave and one on Rt 59 (just N of Fox Valley Mall)

I went to three dealerships here back in May, and they told me that since they didn't know the price they wanted at least $3Gs for a deposit , so I gave the list of options I wanted to two, so hopefully my Stang might just pop up (if not, I'm sure I'll find one that I like just as nice) One of the dealers is a friend of my uncle who works for a luxury car dealer, so that should be a sure thing.

Well, another four or five weeks and we'll see...we'll hit up someplace and take over the parking lot
