SoCal Mustang Meet/Cruise

Over the last week or so I’ve contacted several members in the SoCal area to gauge interest in setting up a Mustang cruise/meet. I spend most of my time in the 2010+ section so if you didn’t get a PM, this is your invitation if you would like to participate.

I’m a pretty boring guy so unfortunately I have no inside knowledge of amazing empty roads or cool stuff like that. But, here are a few suggestions, please feel free to chime in with your ideas as well.

Thursday night @ Irwindale Drag Strip
Located basically where the 210 and 605 meet. Pros: has a huge parking lot where we can easily line are cars up, surrounded by other enthusiasts and make a few passes on the 8th mile track if so desired. Cons: You have to pay $10 to enter but $20 if you plan on running the strip.

Sonics Drive-In
There are locations in Duarte off the 210 just east of Pasadena and Rancho Cucamonga sandwiched between the 10 and 210 freeway.

Mulholland Drive is pretty famous for being a cool road, same with Pacific coast Highway. I’ve always wanted to do a Route66 cruise but I’m not familiar with where it leads or if it has a lot of intersections or not.

As for the date/time, that’s something we all can decide as a group as well.

Well I'm about 1 1/2 to 2 hours north of LA, but if it's the weekend, there's a pretty good chance I can make it.

I'm good for almost any Sunday morning.

Angeles Crest up in to mountains is always a great drive or Palos Verdes beach cruise is beautiful too.

I'm down for Sunday morning, I like the Palos Verdes idea too.

Once GeneK, zill8, xkornkidx01 and GrabberBlue310 reply, let's vote.

Xkornkidx01 has conflicts on Sundays, can we agree on Saturday?

Anyone object to Palos Verdes?

Zilla8 is in the building I'm on the Westside of L.A. and play in the Santa monica mountains all the time.I'm down for PV on Sat or Sun .If any of you are free during the week I've started doing this little run up Topanga cyn and then stopping at Dennys on Burbank for breakfast. After breakfast I hit Mulholland DR and Encinal cyn to PCH.The roads are clear during the week with very few CHP (not that I'm speeding)

I have'nt been to a Mustang meet in 10 years since my old Fox 5.0 days so this should be fun.

There's a place in the san bernandino mountains called "rim of the world". Never been personally but heard its good road. The negatives are that it probably has a lot of ricers and a lot of cops.

I like Ray Man's idea. I believe he and Jed go to a lot of meets in So Cal so they probably know all of the ins and outs

Well, I actually work on the weekends cause I manage a restaurant, so my weekends are actually Tue and Wed but I can smooze my Asst Mgr into covering a shift for me.

So, how do we procede? Seems, like we have three options; Saturday, Sunday or joining Zilla8 on one of his weekday runs.

You can PM with your vote or vote with a reply.

Hi guys check out this link for things to do during the week and weekends. Not every thing is 100% Mustang related but that may not be an issue if it just a cruise in/gathering.

SoCal Car Culture>

Some ideas:

Saturday's Cars and Coffee in Irvine then cruise south through Laguna and up PCH.

On Sunday's there is Super Car Sunday off of Topanga Canyon blvd. From there you could head to Neptunes for lunch in Malibu.

Either day Angeles Crest is always fun for late breakfast or early lunch.

Or South through South Orange County through the Ortega Hwy, breakfast/lunch in Temecula to Palamar observatory, Pala Casino and out to the coast.

So you have a lot of choices!

Hey everyone. I'm very interested in some mustang meet and greets.

I live in the similar area and I really like this idea. Perfect crusing spots right there.
Have very flexible schedules, just need to know the time and day.

Reading your handle, I didn't bother messaging you because I thought you were in San Francisco, welcome.
