I sent you an e-mail last night with some local Mustang events for next month.
If you're interested in a cruise up this way SVT Performance is having one on Saturday August 20 starting in Arcadia and ending in Santa Barbara.

Another club in my area is having a meet and cruise starting in La Crescenta.
That event will be on August 13.

I don't know if the second event is open to all or just club members, but if you would like contact information to that group let me know and I'll pass it allong.

Hmmm, we could do a 3 county cruise. Start in SD, pick up folks in OC, then end in LA. If we do it all coastal, it would be a beautiful drive. Whats on the coast in that area??? Malibu, Redondo? How close is Long Beach to you guys?

I vote for August 21st. We can end up in LA sometime around noon??? Is there a place for lunch we can hit with a big parking lot? One that we can talk to someone and get a bunch of spots marked off???

Sunday the 21st should work for me (depending on my work schedule...we had a shift bid last week and the new shifts will be posted in a couple days).
To answer your question about Long Beach...that's about 30 minutes from my house...not sure about the other areas as I hav'nt been out that way for a long time. I know of a weekly car show in Woodland Hills right off the 101 on Sunday Mornings starting around 9:00 or 10:00.

If you would like a coastal cruise the Santa Barbara run on Saturday would be a nice drive down the PCH on the return home (the one SVT Performance is having. As of today they have 56 people signed up).

If you really want to meet on Sunday and are looking for a place to meet in one of the beach cities I suppose you could do a search on the internet by entering the area you want to meet and see what you can find...maybe a government contact or a business that's willing to help us out.

Santa Barbara is just too far of a drive with this kind of scheduling. It might be cool to do in a few weeks...

Its time we did a LA meet, how close is the 405 to you? We can meet someplace off there.... Gimme some ideas of places to meet in your area.

I rather do meets that are not local to me on Sundays.

Plus, Mike, its about time we MET YOU! LOL

As to how far I am from the 405...well, that depends on where you want to meet.
I can hit the 405 in the San Fernando Valley in about 20 minutes (more or less), but if you want to meet in say Long Beach it's probably around 30 minutes.

One place I was thinking would work is the Rose Bowl in Pasadena because of the large parking areas. The only problem with that location is the guys at SVT Performance had some problems with the Police the last time they met there.
But I suppose of you talked to the PD and told them what you plan to do and we all behave ourselves (no crazy driving or burnouts) we should be okay.
As for the Beach Cities...I don't know what's in those areas, but if you did an internet search for them you might get some good ideas.

Let me know what area you would like to meet, and what you would like to do and I'll see what I can come up with.
A meet at one of the beaches might be nice as we could get some nice scenic pictures of the cars with the ocean in the background, but I'll leave that up to you as you have experiance setting these meets up.

And yes, it is about time that we finally meet in person.

K, I just did a bunch of Yahoo-ing. Looking at ease of freeway access, the closest beach - Santa Monica seems to be the best bet. From Glendale to SM is about 25-30 minutes.

However, I was also looking, and Griffith Park is right there... Glendale Galleria as well.

Then there is the Staples Center. I will call them in the am, maybe we can set up a little course to drive? I will call Rose Bowl as well. See which one is more willing to let us hang out.

Mike, you had to go and give me more ideas. I LOVE those ideas! Now we have some good places to work with now, and by tomorrow nite should have a great meeting planned.

C'mon people, lets hear who is going to make it.

Whatever happened to CA_Stang? What about you Wild Stray?

If I run into Pasadena PD tomorrow I'll ask about having a meet at the Rose Bowl.
Since it has lots of parking lots I don't see a problem...as long as we behave ourselves and don't upset the locals. As to a cruise...let me know what would be a good starting point and I'll see what I can come up with for a route (freeway or streets) and we'll set something up.

LMAO, I just posted about doing it at The Galley.

Seems to be the easiest solution. Thanks so much for all your help.

This one looks like it's going to be fun...but I'm not sure if you're going to be in the area on the day of the meet.

LOL I thought San Gabriel would be close enough, its about 15 minutes from the area you are talking about.

After all, it was your post that spurred this whole conversation on.

I try and help when I can
Actually, another member posted a request looking for events in the Glendale/Burbank/Pasadena area and I posted information on a couple of upcoming events (SVT's Santa Barbara cruise and another clubs meet in La Crescenta).
After that you decided on the Los Angeles Cruise, and asked for ideas.
I was willing to meet up at one of the beach cities and cruise with you guys, but since I don't know those areas as it relates to parking and places to eat I thought I'd suggest areas that I know has lots of parking and good food.

While it's nice to have something close to home I would have drove 30-45 minutes (if not longer) to meet up with you.

NOW you tell us Mike, LOL

I am all messed up.. K, the final plan is we are going to the museum, RIGHT? We need to get at least 10 people to confirm for the tours. I used to be a tour guide, it'll be interesting to be IN a tour instead of running it. I havent done a tour since I stopped working as a guide.
